Loved the quieter part of this peninsular.

Loved the quieter part of this peninsular. So rugged and beautiful. Would loved to have done some coastal path walks. Next time definitely would consider staying longer to allow for walks as well as sight seeing.

Hartland is a quiet village in North Devon with some pubs, a shop and a takeaway. Hartland Quay is 2 miles away offering a pub and hotel next to the sea with some wonderful views and a beach. The walk to Hartland Quay from Hartland Point has some spectacular views and it's possible to walk to Clovelly from Hartland Point as well. Hartland Abbey is worthy of a visit especially the gardens and the walk to the beach.

Hartland is tranquil and conveniently located.

Hartland is tranquil and conveniently located. There are buses to Bude, Clovelly and Bideford. For a small peaceful village there is a lot going on, with three pubs running many activities. We enjoyed joining the Shanty Choir one evening. The village also has two well-stocked shops, both with good opening times into the evening. There is a woodland walk down to the abbey and the roads are quiet enough to walk safely.

We extended our stay in the area by a day and chose this Hotel specifically because of it's name. We were very pleased with our stay the staff were friendly service excellent. The food was excellent and the views out side were stunning, though the location of the Hotel behind it's ancillary building limited the view from the rooms. I'd certainly stay again.

As you start to explore the area what you realize is that there is far more to see and experience than you'd first considered. If you haven't chosen to stay for a few days you'll regret it. We have deeply enjoyed our stay of just two days and no matter the weather it took us deeper and deeper into history and the natural environment around this whole region. So much to explore and learn about. Take more time!

Had an excellent value lunch lunch in the Hart Inn.

Had an excellent value lunch lunch in the Hart Inn. Friendly staff. We had walked to the view point at Hartland Point and seen the lighthouse. After lunch we had an interesting visit to Hartland Abbey. Tea and cake in their tearoom. Wonderful part of the world.

Friendly and helpful owners who live next door- felt homely with ducks in the garden. Very quiet- it is on village street but set well back and high up. Village is pretty with 3 pubs offering food and 2 shops. Bed was good and firm, and for once the lighting was good, easy to read in bed. Kitchen well resourced with all the essentials.Spotlessly clean. Nice little patio to cool off in. 1 hr free parking available right outside, and a free long stay car park 5 mins away. Perfect location for Hartland Quay and coastal path.

The property suited out needs perfectly having an en-suite bedroom downstairs with the other upstairs with a bathroom in the corridor. Large outside eating area which we used having got take away food from the local village. Hosts had provided freshly baked cake and bread, fresh eggs from their chickens. All small items provided like washing up items clothes, liquid etc. all towels and dressing gown also there. Beautifully situated with a local walk to a local bay.

Home from home exactly fits John and Val's BandB. They are a lovely couple that clearly enjoy what they do and go out of their way to ensure you have a good stay. We were walking the South West Coast Path and John very kindly came and picked us up (took us back the next morning) from Hartland quay hotel which is approx 2 miles away from the path. We would highly recommend walkers to stay here.

The owner was so kind, she picked us up from Hartland Quay after we’d walked 10 miles from Clovelly and couldn’t get a taxi. The room was clean and had a nice view.
