A pretty and historic village, the birthplace of cricket is on the outskirts of the village, and the vineyard is within a few minutes walk. We ate at The Shoe in Exton (10 minute drive), which is really nice. The Bat and Ball does decent food as well. the local pub is The Vine and there is a village shop. There are plenty of options to walk and explore the local countryside. Portsmouth is an easy drive if you want to explore the city and it's Naval history.
