FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-Loving and Forward Thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organisations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world class. Not to be missed are the futuristic-looking Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, every taste is catered for.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sport. Scotland’s 2 most iconic football clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national football stadium Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centres cover everything from high street brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you’ve left enough space in your bags!

It was a good short stay and although there are a lot of shops in the area in the city centre, I don't know why in the gift shops there is just nothing of Glasgow itself (only Scotland and Edinburgh). I did love the visit to Glasgow's Cathedral and cemetry. But to be honest, for views and scenery, I love Edinburgh a bit more.

Not much of a review unfortunately as I was there on business only for a conference. I have not seem much of Glasgow at all, arrived late in the dark, spent the whole next day at the exhibition centre and left again in the evening.

We had a great time in Glasgow.

We had a great time in Glasgow. We found the shopping great, the sights reasonably priced and some the antique stores exactly what we were searching out. Most of the staff in shops and restaurants were friendly and accommodating.

This is an ok hotel. Not shabby, not wonderful. Location is great if you want to be close to the main motorways. It’s a 15 minute walk from the city centre. Just be careful the hotel falls just inside the Glasgow LEZ, so check your vehicle details before booking.
