We had a wonderful stay at the H Boutique Hotel in Bakewell. The staff was absolutely lovely — attentive, kind, and always willing to help so we could explore the area with peace of mind. A special thank you to David, who was incredibly kind — it was a real pleasure to have such a nice conversation with him. We highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back!

One of the best places I have ever stayed at! Centrally located in the Peak District it is a perfect base from which to explore the whole area. The building, interiors and gardens are well kept, well decorated and exceptionally charming. The room was spacious and full if light. The food was of amazing quality and simply delicious. The staff were helpful, friendly and extremely attentive. You can tell everyone is working to make your stay as special as possible.

I couldn't fault our trip - it was simply wonderful from start to finish. We had booked a king room which was amazing, so spacious, clean and modern. Topped off by a beautiful mountain view. The surrounding area had lovely walks with scenery for miles! The Blind Bull staff were all so friendly and welcoming, taking a genuine interest in your stay. There were so many small touches which made the stay feel extra special! The food was exceptional - everything tasted so good so I would definitely recommend booking an evening dinner in the restaurant.

Froggatt is a great location - we parked the car and didn't use it until we left. Plenty of places within walking distance, many pretty paths/riverside walks locally - walked to Padley Gorge, Eyam, up to Froggatt Edge and around to White Edge, Baslow Edge and Curbar Edge as well as around the Derwent river Short rides to Monsal Trail, Chatsworth Estate, Ladybower Reservoir, Castleton.... Great Craft shop (and Cafe) at Calver Bridge

Excellent place for walks.

Excellent place for walks. Froggatt edge just a short climb away, up the road and along wooded tracks. Stunning views. River at the end of the lane for the start of other walks. . Chatsworth and Longshaw short drives away, and the more popular Mam Tor, Lud's Church about a half hour's drive away. Plenty more good walks! And beautiful, interesting churches and history. Small Spar supermarket 5 minute drive away for basic provisions. Local pub very friendly, quiet but quite expensive. But a nice little scramble up the hill through the woods!

Lovely rural location for escaping to the countryside.

Lovely rural location for escaping to the countryside. We enjoyed all our pre-booked meals in the dining room at Cliff College. Great menu with choices for dietary needs and served with a smile. Amazed at how well the staff coped with serving such large numbers. Definitely hope to return.

Froggart is probably one of the prettiest villages in the Peak District with good walks and pretty central to be able to get to everywhere without being touristy. 2 minutes down the road from Calver which has all the local amenities and it’s over looked by froggartt edge which is a great walk with amazing views onto the village

We loved The Chequers Inn as we prefer to stay in older hotels/inns with a lot of history. The breakfasts and dinners were exceptional, so well done to the chef and his/her team. All of the staff we met were so helpful and friendly. Excellent location to visit all of the local areas and attractions we wanted to visit.

The bed was comfy. There was plenty of room to put your things. There were plenty of drinks available (not the usual 1 each only) within the room. The bathroom supplies were proper supplies not the hotel types. The hosts were lovely and chatty with lots of knowledge of the areas we wanted to visit.
