The Anderson Hotel is one of a kind in the best way! The old historic building is filled with all sorts of curiosities and with lots of love. The decor of the rooms is in a fitting vintage style, but everything is very neat and tidy! The food is awesome, they have also a lots of crafty beer on tap and 250 whiskys to choose from. Jim and his crew are the good heart&soul of this location and make your stay worth while.

The room is very cozy and well equipped, there's everything you need.. Rachael is an awesome person and an even better host. I rarely met someone who was so open and friendly towards me and made me feel right at home. Avoch is an awesome place to stay when visiting the Highlands. I will definitely come back.

amazing location, views across the moray firth, really warm and comfortable cottage. Very quiet, not much light pollution, so evening skies were brilliant. Was at work all day, so didn't use much in the cottage, but seemed to be well stocked with equipment, plenty of walking could be done in the area. hosts were very friendly, came and said hello when I got there, encouraged me to knock on their door if I needed anything, or had a problem (I didn't). this trip was booked by work, but I would happily spend my money on revisiting

What a beautiful part of Scotland!

What a beautiful part of Scotland! It was both relaxing and peaceful. There were different things you could do and fantastic places to eat and grab a drink. The dolphin watching was also very fun and different. Crofter’s was one of our favorite food places. Everyone we met were friendly and helpful.

Lovely little village with beautiful cathedral, shops, cafes...

Lovely little village with beautiful cathedral, shops, cafes, bakeries, butcher etc. Close to neighbouring village of Rosemarkie and beautiful beach and walks. Looks across Moray Firth to Ardersier and Fort George.

Not the best Closures due to Covid

Not the best Closures due to Covid Main road noisy and polluted Restaurant noisy opposite Fortress Harbour nice and around Cathedral but otherwise not the best Too far to walk to Canonry Point but by car you face parking charges Not our first visit but last in Fortrose Post Office sells lovely gifts

Fortrose is a beautiful village with historic buildings and...

Fortrose is a beautiful village with historic buildings and the main attraction is the opportunity to spot dolphins at Chanonry Point. There are pubs and restaurants as well as the beach at Rosemarkie within walking distance of the village.

Went out and getting us semi skimmed milk for our drinks. Then in the morning without saying anything they even did our scrambled eggs with semi skimmed. Please don't be put off by first impressions of The Anderson. We have never had such attentive service as we did here. First class 100%. If we are ever back in Fortrose, without a doubt we will definitely be booking here. Thank you to everyone for making this such a memorable stay 😀.

We loved the location and the house was maintained to a high standard. The hosts were very gracious making sure we had a lovely time. There is a lovely bakery in the town just 5 mins drive away. We also got to see the dolphins do their dance from the famous view point also very close. For commute I will recommend to use the Church street via Fortrose town instead of taking the Knockmuir.

There was a perfect house for my family of 5 people including my little girl, we’ve experienced two wonderful nights staying at Fortrose. The house located very close to the Chanonry Point. It’s very tidy and clean inside, and you almost can find anything you need here. I highly recommend staying here if you intend to pass this area!

Everything! Super comfy, quality accommodation in perfectly located, picturesque location. Thanks to our super friendly host for her highland hospitality. Our much criticised Scottish weather even played a blinder, which added to our enjoyable Fortrose holiday experience!

Good welcome, and very friendly and helpful owner. Excellent twin beds meant a good sleep. Super bed side lights, and spacious shower room. Quiet location away from centre of Fortrose, with fine countryside view. Lots of parking spaces.
