Faversham is a vibrant, attractive, well preserved medieval town with lots of individual shops, cafés and interesting pubs. There's a market on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and an antiques market on the first Sunday of the month.

Faversham is a VERY old town.

Faversham is a VERY old town. It’s got some excellent places to eat, ancient pubs and is well located for other Kent cities like Canterbury, Rochester etc with excellent rail links. Market day is Saturday, often during the summer there will be something on Sunday as well. The Arden theatre is well worth a show. Highly recommended.

It's a lovely town, not too far from the coast and has a few lovely cafés. There is a market in the town on a few days through the week, biggest on Saturdays. It has beautiful architecture and some general amenities such as Tesco, Home Bargains and community centre with swimming baths. The town is also not too far from other entertainment such as Wingham Wildlife Park, or the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral which is close to some shops. There is an urgent medical centre close by to the community centre for when needed, the service is quick and efficient. Public toilets across on the other side of the car park are well maintained and are free.

I like Faversham, we visited the family, so didnt get to see much of the area this time, but from previous travels, we loved the Hop Festival, shops and cafes. There are lots of places nearby to explore too, eg Whitstable and Seasalter. And there are a variety of castles within easy reach. Even Dover Castle is doable and that's definitely worth a whole day visit. Eating out - Macknades is a great farm shop and cafe. We had great service and a lovely meal at The Alma pub and a great Thai meal at the Thai Orchid.

I stayed for a weekend to coincide with the Antiques Fair on Saturday and Favesham Safari on the Sunday and picked up some treasures during my visit. I had a lovely meal in "Ask Italian" in town on Saturday and "The Bear" on Sunday. Will definately visit again.

Could have easily stayed longer!

Could have easily stayed longer! We came for the Open Gardens, being a huge fan of the Middlesized Garden Blog. We fell in love with Faversham, had no idea how lovely it was, & such friendly people. We had a great stay.

The room was comfortable with an enormous bed and ensuite bathroom. It reminded me of a motel in the USA with a parking space outside the door to your room. It was warm sunny weather when we stayed so we had breakfast outside. It was a good buffet breakfast. The hotel has extensive grounds with mature trees and views across the countryside to the sea.

Such a lovely pub and hotel! You could tell it had been recently refurbished and had so many nice small touches, including a Dyson fan, kitchen aid kettle, & lovely white company soap/shampoo/conditioner. The bed was very comfy and the room was spacious. The staff were also so friendly and welcoming!
