Both my daughter and I had such a lovely stay at this property. Absolutely charming. It's one of those properties that you'd discover all the features of the house and garden one by one, taking you back in time, teaching you a bit of English social history, but keeping you in a present comfort. On top of that we really appreciated the cleanliness, the room temperature (we prefer it not too hot, but have an extra layer of blanket nearby, if needed), hot beverage facilities, the beautiful bathroom, the design and decor, etc. I had a blast discovering the charm of the town by foot and the surrounding area, by car. Highly recommended.

The whole experience was just lovely. I called ahead to check last time for ordering dinner. Turned out I was arriving exactly at that time -8pm so I pre-ordered steak, and it was served outside in the very sweet garden area within 10 minutes of arriving. The welcome by the barman was friendly. He showed me to my room, told me everything I needed to know and served dinner too. Dinner was super tasty, hot and well-presented. The Merlot was perfect and the Pavlova to die for! What I couldn't understand was why there was no one else at the pub below or anyone eating dinner! Because I found the whole village and hotel just lovely. I had the whole little oasis to myself and it was just what I needed after a few weeks of hard work! I felt myself relaxing like butter! I had an amazing night's sleep as it was so quiet. I had to leave early so didn't have breakfast. Parking in front of the hotel was close by. I will definitely try to stay there again

It's a bit of a ghost town, really, with many shops closed. The people are friendly though and it looks like they run activities associated with the folly. Visiting in autumn, we probably didn't see the town at its best.

A vast choice of electric chargers where you can slow charge overnight. We visited Cogges Farm and love the cotswold villages and countryside. Crocodile world is a favourite visit for our grandchildren. Easy driving out of rush hour.

It's a good base for neolithic adventures.

It's a good base for neolithic adventures. We climbed White Horse Hill and saw a couple of hill forts and a 'long barrow' burial mound. We spent the day with the best weather walking up to Faringdon Folly which has great views. There were maps for several walks in the car park in the town. We went to a pub with a fire and visited a lovely tea/coffee shop in the centre. Sadly, the brewery didn't serve food and I didn't have chance to go back and try the extensive range of beer.

We only had time to visit one (fairly) local restaurant - the Lamb, and unfortunately (or just our bad luck!) the waitress got our order wrong and meant a long delay waiting for the main course.However, we didn't see much of Faringdon as it was dark.

This is a pub but the rooms are out the back, single story cabins like a motel. It is very very quiet and car parking is excellent. The address says Faringdon but the pub is not in Faringdon it is in the small village of Uffington. I knew this but others booking on the site might be confused. The cooked breakfast is traditional, well done.
