recently had the pleasure of booking a stay at Aurora Retreats and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, everything about my stay exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, the owner of Aurora Retreats was incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure that I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From providing detailed directions to the property to offering helpful suggestions on local restaurants, their warm and welcoming nature made me feel right at home. Speaking of the property itself, it was nothing short of stunning. Nestled in the midst of nature, the retreat offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The serene atmosphere and tranquil surroundings made it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It truly felt like a hidden gem. One aspect that particularly stood out to me was the impeccable cleanliness and tidiness of the place. The attention to detail was evident in every nook and cranny. The rooms were spotless, the common areas were well-maintained, and the overall ambiance was one of relaxation and serenity. It was clear that the owners take great pride in maintaining their property to the highest standards. During my stay, I had the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, and I was not disappointed. There were plenty of activities to enjoy, from hiking trails to nearby attractions. The owner's recommendations proved to be invaluable, as I was able to make the most of my time in the area and discover hidden gems I would have otherwise missed. We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin, it has large spaces (big living room with open kitchen well equiped and the room is also spacious). The view of the loch and the terrace has been well appreciated! It was well located in a quiet area, not far away from Dunvegan Castle or the Neist Point Lightouse. I recommend at 100%!

We were at Carters Rest Guesthouse for 4 nights. Everything about our stay was just perfect: starting the day with a delicious breakfast served at the table and with the best view ever, we got precious tipps where to go to from Simone and Jonathan, we stayed in a beautiful bedroom with a supercosy bed! And at the top: what can be better to finish a wonderful hiking day with a light and healthy dinner and then go in the sauna to view the stunning sunset?! Simone and Jonathan red every wish from our eyes and fulfilled every single one :) Everything in CRG is made with a lot of love, calmness and with an eye for the beautiful things, so we felt really at home. A perfect place to relax and just enjoy. Thank you so much, Simone, Jonathan, Emma and Molly for your hospitality and the wonderful birthday surprise - we had an absolutely stunning time with you!

Dunvegan was quite central to travelling across Skye for our various planned activities - whisky tour, puffin tour, walking Quiraing, Fairy Pools and Old Man of Storr. The two shops had enough for the grocery essentials and there were several cafes and restaurants to provide choice. The castle was interesting though a bit pricey.

The town itself is nothing special, although it had several places to eat. I would recommend the school house restaurant only two doors away. Everywhere is a drive, but my experience was that each drive was a pleasure and all the key areas can be reached easily. Plan time to explore the north end of Skye...it's well worth it. I was particularly interested in birding and photography, both of which are of high quality in the surrounding area. I did not have chance to visit the other attractions on offer such as the Castle, although I did call off at Talikser Whiskey distillery, which I felt was worth a visit. I feel for the best of Skye, go north.....

Dunvegan Castle and Garden is a must-visit. Very little traffic and easy to get around. Distances are deceiving because of the narrow windy roads - passing places are an experience! We had a great lunch at The Three Chimneys just outside Duvegan

Surprisingly little there, used as a base for 3 nights, should really have done for 2. Dunvegan Castle nearby and worth a visit. Limited places to eat. Had to drive to get to anywhere including start of walks.

Wonderful little town with so many gems if you take the time...

Wonderful little town with so many gems if you take the time to explore! Check out the Angus McCaskill museum for some quirky entertainment; the School House for a wonderful, hearty meal; Dunvegan Castle for a fantastic history lesson and some great walking paths; Two Churches walk up to the standing stone; and Misty's for a quick bite and some ice cream. Easy-to-walk town with friendly people.

Dunvegan is in a beautiful area of Skye and centrally located with easy access to the Cullins, and Portree. The weather was rainy most of the visit but we still managed to have a wonderful time and see the sights.

Coral Cabins is a truly magical place. The views from the cabin were outstanding, and the property itself is stunning. The cabin was beautifully built, perfectly furnished, and immaculate - we were inspired by all of the thoughtful touches. Jenny and Roland were wonderful and helpful hosts, and we can’t thank them enough for all they did to make our trip to Isle of Skye special. This experience will always have a special place in our hearts. Overall, this stay is exceptional, 10/10. We would highly highly recommend!

The most beautiful little place with a beautiful view. In the chilly conditions of Skye it was lovely to come home to the warmth and cosiness of the accommodation. It was lovely on arrival to be met with fresh bred and treats and a nip of whiskey.. Not to mention having coffee with the amazing sunrise. The WiFi is good and shower pressure amazing. Everything is here and more on what you would expect. I loved having coffee with the greeting of the neighbours dog each morning.

As well as our spacious bedroom we loved our private lounge/dining room where could relax in the evenings and enjoy the delicious breakfast that Ian and Christine prepared each morning. Ian was a fountain of knowledge, providing guidance and tips on how to make the best use of our time on Skye. Ian and Christine were wonderful hosts and made us feel at home throughout our stay!
