    Castle and Denny museum well worth a visit. Leven river and Clyde both interesting to walk beside. Town a little run down BUT most amazing coffee shop, Roo's Kitchen, is well worth a visit. Friendly staff and delicious food.

    Quiet town but with easy access to great sights and very interesting sites Visited Helensborough, Aberfoyle, Calender, Loch Lomond, Argyle Museum Had breakfasts in James Laing and Abbotsford Hotel both very good Also had excellent dinner in Glencairn bar Very easy to get around the town even with one way system

    I am sorry the area was awful it was above an Indian...

    I am sorry the area was awful it was above an Indian restaurant and the corridor we had to go through was full of household rubbish and bags that were leaking the stairs were covered in grime and I have already reported on the inadequacies of the room I am trying to get a rebate but I will continue to post negative feedback until somebody contacts me with the view to sorting this out

    No idea what the town is like as this was just a convenient overnight stay en route between Bournemouth and Oban. We only visited a local supermarket for fuel: Dumbarton had the best fuel prices seen on our whole trip though.

    The town itself is looking a bit run down but efforts are being made to improve it. St Augustine's Episcopal Church is beautiful and is where Charles Rennie MacKintosh was married in 1900. We haven't visited the Rock nor the Maritime Museum but intend doing so sometimg.

    We usually stay in travel lodge/ premier inn. Ths was just as well equipped but had a lounge/bar ant restaurant so we could relax and have a drink before getting ready for dinner in the restaurant with very friendly helpful staff

    Location is excellent for visiting Loch Lomond, Dumbarton Castle, Glasgow, staff make you feel like family and are very helpful, very clean throughout, very comfortable room king size bed with full bathroom plenty of hot water, the food in the restaurant is excellent would come here just for a meal and at a very reasonable price, well stocked bar, 5* service, 5* staff, 5* restaurant.

    inside the unit was ok (only) but outside appalling bedroom pokey and too small rest of the areas lacked proper cleaning and carpets badly stained. Tv didnt work except streaming. The entry into the building was like walking into a demolition site ...scary ... and arguments outside our front door and the town and street revoltingly dirty unkept and area felt unsafe
