We were grateful for the shelter that this guesthouse provided on a particularly rainy day during our hike along the Kintyre way - what a luxurious place after camping outdoors, with a quiet, clean and spacious room. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast amazing. We continued on our hike the next day, but certainly could well imagine coming back for a longer stay.

We arrived late but the owners arranged the self-checkin which was smooth. The property is beautiful, just in the middle of green fields. The bathroom was huge and bed was very comfortable. A big plus, the property is 10 minutes far from the ferry terminal to the Island of Islay (this was the main reason we chose this property, but we were surprised about how good it was).

The bus from the ferry stops at their front door. The restaurant and pub are very friendly, efficient, and the food is great. I Loved, Loved, the Vegan Roumalade. My favorite meal of my 4 week trip. It is on the water. Our room was small but very nice. happy to stay here again

Welcoming staff. Very friendly atmosphere. Upgraded without a problem due to a guest staying on longer in my allocated room. Excellent facilities. Warm and cozy. Relaxed with a few pints at the bar. Locals were very sociable.

We loved our stay at Anchor Hotel! Our room had a beautiful view over the habour. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff were very friendly. We could walk to dinner- a great place called Lullabelle’s on the foreshore. Short drive to Kennacraig ferry. Great breakfast too. Highly recommend!
