It is a beautiful little village set in a very picturesque area, our stop was just overnight after a trip to a dog show in Builth Wells, but it was very enjoyable and we will return again next year and maybe explore some more.

A wonderful small town. full of character set amongst attractive hills. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous with a variety of lovely walks ranging from flat strolls along canal and river to substantial hills. Some of the streets in the town centre are quite steep too. The visitor centre has some excellent local guidebooks. There are a few local shops, including newsagents, as well as cafes, pubs and hotels for places to eat, but for more substantial shopping you will need to go into Brecon or Abergavenny.

Fabulous location, with lovely views of the hills all round. Plenty of nearby walks criss crossing the Brecon Canal. Fabulous bookshop "Bookish" and café in the town centre, which has a programme of events.Tourist & Information centre in the town. Plenty of cafes and eateries to choose from. Would recommend both the Bear and the Dragon Hay Festival within an hours drive.

It was a very pleasant small town beautifully situated in the Black Mountains and so near to other places of interest. We visited Hay on Wye, Abergavenny, Brecon and Canal basin, the Brecon Beacons. Wonderful scenery. The bus service made for a relief from driving. We stayed and ate at the Bear Hotel which we can highly recommend.

We did the hike up Pen Y Fan with a large group of friends earlier in the day and then stayed over at the Bear afterwards. Everyone in our group booked their accommodation individually, however the Bear were happy to arrange a large table for our group and we pre ordered our meals ahead of time. We will definitely be back!

The Manor Hotel is in a beautiful rural location overlooking Welsh hills, we had a glorious view from our window. We had an evening meal and breakfast and both were really very good, freshly cooked and delicious. Lovely friendly staff and a very interesting history to the original part of the house - read the Welcome folder and the info on the walls in reception.

Wonderful stay at Y Llofft once again. As it was a scorching summer weekend we were so thankful for th air conditioning, a real reward after a warm walk home! Couldn't fault this little hideaway for exploring Bannau Brycheiniog, Crickhowell and Abergavenny!
