The instructions were super clear, the rooms even though around the back were well lit and fully accessable. the room we stayed in was gorgeous! just a shame there were no stars to see through the unbeliveable skylight in the bathroom, which again, is to die for!

It is a beautiful little village set in a very picturesque area, our stop was just overnight after a trip to a dog show in Builth Wells, but it was very enjoyable and we will return again next year and maybe explore some more.

A wonderful small town. full of character set amongst attractive hills. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous with a variety of lovely walks ranging from flat strolls along canal and river to substantial hills. Some of the streets in the town centre are quite steep too. The visitor centre has some excellent local guidebooks. There are a few local shops, including newsagents, as well as cafes, pubs and hotels for places to eat, but for more substantial shopping you will need to go into Brecon or Abergavenny.

Fabulous location, with lovely views of the hills all round. Plenty of nearby walks criss crossing the Brecon Canal. Fabulous bookshop "Bookish" and café in the town centre, which has a programme of events.Tourist & Information centre in the town. Plenty of cafes and eateries to choose from. It was a very pleasant small town beautifully situated in the Black Mountains and so near to other places of interest. We visited Hay on Wye, Abergavenny, Brecon and Canal basin, the Brecon Beacons. Wonderful scenery. The bus service made for a relief from driving. We stayed and ate at the Bear Hotel which we can highly recommend.

We did the hike up Pen Y Fan with a large group of friends earlier in the day and then stayed over at the Bear afterwards. Everyone in our group booked their accommodation individually, however the Bear were happy to arrange a large table for our group and we pre ordered our meals ahead of time. We will definitely be back!

The Barn is a very nice cottage, very quiet. There is a big kitchen , on the first floor two bedrooms and a bathroom. Behind the cottage is a small terrace for a nice breakfast in morning sun. In front of the cottage you can enjoy the evening sun. The Barn is located between Crickhowell and Abergavenney. From here it is easy to explore the Brecon Beacons, Wye valley or Usk valley

Lovely period accommodation, right Inthe middle of this lovely little town and retaining lots of original features, slightly quirky - but everything we needed was there. For our business trip so much better than a hotel as we were able work at the dining table. We had breakfast at the dragon inn which I highly recommend.
