I went to Crewe to see the local area.

I went to Crewe to see the local area. I visited Nantwich and Sandbach. Nantwich is a lovely small town, and Sandbach is a bit bigger, both lovely to visit. The Market in Nantwich is lovely to visit, and there are a couple of National Trust places we didn't have enough time to visit, but we will do next time.

This is not an unbiased opinion!

This is not an unbiased opinion! I used to live and work in Crewe, and still make regular visits. It is an excellent base for travel in all directions, and so ideal for touring holidays, especially using train services. But the town has suffered from the delays and partial cancellation of the "High Speed 2" rail line, and changes prompted by the break up of British Rail. Rail House, the 12 storey office block by the station, is now a derelict eyesore although I understand that Cheshire East Council is endeavouring to address this.

There is absolutely nothing of value in Crewe.

There is absolutely nothing of value in Crewe. There's an abundance of "fast-food" outlets but few restaurants or pubs doing food. It's better as a base for visiting Nantwich or even Chester.

We were down on a flying visit to collect some antiques from an auction so didn't see much of Crewe but would love to come back, especially if it meant another stay at the Crewe Hall Hotel and Spa

Excellent hotel, very close to the railway station, friendly and helpful staff, large and comfortable room, very warm despite freezing temperatures outside. Very good value for money and a safe place to stay.

I liked everything.

I liked everything. Obviously for the price I paid, I got lots of value. I just used the hotel to sleep and the room was perfect. The free parking was an amazing bonus and included breakfast. Although not the best I have seen, it had enough to make me happy.

This is a formerly fairly grand railway hotel nearly opposite Crewe station. It was pretty cheap but has seen better days and is rather tatty. The staff were quite pleasant and moved me to room away from noisy kitchen fan. It has free parking but you have to ignore the large number of threatening signs and register your car with reception.

A wonderful stay at Crewe Hall Hotel, full of history and charm. Our room was comfortable and warm, and the food in the restaurant was perfect. The staff were excellent—so welcoming to us and our dog, Sunny. A fantastic experience overall!

It's good for a budget city hotel. Rooms are a little smaller than average but shower room was great. Easy walk into town centre for supper so you don't have to suffer Maccy D's. Breakfast was a bit below par.

The location was excellent easy access from the motorway and nearby towns Crewe and Nantwich. The hotel itself was clean and well presented. Breakfast was a great start to the day, well worth booking.

Standard 'wedding venue' type hotel but without a wedding or other function on so relatively cheap and useful resting place on long trip from south to north in UK.
