The cottage was located closely to the Lake, the village, restaurants/ pubs and local shops. There were walks for all abilities of walkers. A bonus for us was a play park very close by for children to play.

Love Coniston, returning regularly.

Love Coniston, returning regularly. Plenty of interesting places to go nearby, great walks from here. Very good pubs and local shops. I ate in self catering flat. The lake is a must, self drive boats and charted trips. Ducks and swans, the amazing cafe by the lake seems to grow each year. I recall when it was a small green tin shack. You can walk round the village with ease. History is interesting.

There is much to enjoy at Coniston from local walks around the lake as well as trail walks and peak climbing, the local area is steeped in history and the village a joy to walk around. The Ruskin Museum was very interesting and provided an appreciation for past historical local identity and future opportunities, the entrance fee was more than reasonable and the information relating to Coniston of greater appreciation for its significance throughout the Lake District.

A day was enough to fit in a trip on the lake, the Ruskin Museum and the array of shops. Don't go looking for Donald Campbell's grave in the church cemetery, it's in the village cemetery off Hawkshead Old Road. Didn't do any walking or drive to other villages, but it would be a good base location for this.

Fantastic location and setting even in the awful weather we had! The room and beds were really comfortable and spotlessly clean, despite it being a very dog friendly hotel. The pub and restaurant areas were really nicely decorated and cosy. Breakfast was great too, plenty of choice both from the buffet and cooked to order. The hotel also offered us free drinks in return for passing on a daily clean, what a great idea! And my red wine was lovely!!

Generally a great location - 15 min walk for us to the Lake, close to Coniston pubs/shops, and there is even a play park a couple minutes down the road . Decor throughout was very tasteful and high spec. A good size apartment for a family of 4 or 2 couples. The apartment was larger than we thought from the photos, which was a pleasant surprise.

Came by foot (Cumbria Way) witha a warm welcome. Walking to Torver is ok by the back route (old railway) but it could be a bit damp under some Lakeland conditions! Walking to Coniston is really a bit far for convenience.
