We liked the situation of the rooms with the beautiful views. It was also good that the rooms were away from the main pub/restaurant so if there had been any noise we wouldn't have heard it. (There wasn't any at all) The owners were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff were the same, very helpful. The evening meals were superb with plenty of choice. Perfectly situated for Bakewell and Chatsworth.

There's some great pubs locally that have amazing food menu's and also have live music most weekends . There are some very good car boots close by to clay cross and its great to go for a mooch around looking for some bargains ..Tansley is a morning car boot every Sunday and Twin Oaks is a Saturday afternoon take wellies as this time of year the ground can be quite muddy . We throughly enjoyed our weekend in Clay Cross and will most definitely return

Good location gor our trip.

Good location gor our trip. Room large but could do with a refresh. Disappointed at paying full price when an 18th birthday party was taking place which disturbed our sleep. Lovely food and the waitress was very attentive. No manager appeared to be on the premises and not heard back with regards to complaint.

Lovely junior suite with lots of space to relax and a balcony for the views. Tea, coffee, milk and bottled water provided and more if needed was just a phone call away at reception. Super place with super views, super breakfast and super staff!

There wasn't much to Clay Cross that we we saw and we didn't look around the area particularly. Mostly rural but a static mobile home park was close by. Easy to find using a sat nav., just avoid the bike riders - of which there were quite a few.

I chose this property because we’d stayed here before. We arrived in the car park at around 5:30pm and tried the door off the car park and it was locked so we walked round to the entrance at the front and tried the doors there finding those locked up also. A gentleman walked past and we spoke to him and he informed us the the hotel had shut down in January.

Stayed here for a long weekend to satisfy my wife's need to go back to Clay Cross after a 30 year break from living there. Barn View was everything we hoped for and more, absolutely fabulous barn conversion we're already planning on going back. 5 stars all round. K&V

Sadly we could not stay here in the end as the village was cut off by the floods. The hotel were excellent at communicating with us under difficult circumstances.
