Brilliant property out in the sticks of Shrewsbury, difficult to find in the narrow lanes, however, get the veterinary practice on your right as you ascend the hill to Pentervin, you will see the plastic cow in the front of the veterinary practice. Turn the next right after the veterinary practice The Stone Cottage is at the bottom of lane on the right. Fantastic welcome from Matt & Sarah, milk, bread, and chocolate biscuits provided along with a fabulous homely wood burning stove with a room temperature of 25 degrees C. A well modernised Stone Cottage with modern amenities, comfy beds, good bathroom, sneaky but perfect kitchen in the lounge dinning area. Excellent deck area through the lounge patio doors, very good for those summer evening late drink or meal.

The accommodation was spacious, had everything you needed...

The accommodation was spacious, had everything you needed and very comfortable bed, bathroom a very good size and lovely shower. We would definitely like to return for another visit and explore the area further. We stayed here as it was close to Powis Castle and gardens, which was easy to get to. We can highly recommend The Stiperstones Pub for food. I had lamb shank which was delicious and the menu is extensive. It was one of the most welcoming places we've been on our many travels and will definitely be back. You need to book though as it fills up fast - a measure of its popularity! Montgomery is a very pretty village/town and Bonners shop was one of those proper old shops which had a large range of bits and pieces and many rooms to explore, loved it.
