Breathtaking scenery.Really felt immersed in the environment. The little village of Cheddar was so quaint. We visited in the evening as well and it had such a magical atmosphere.Very pretty. We had a meal in a Greek Restaurant (oops sadly I can't remember the name) which was a welcome change from the usual fare & delightful.Great atmosphere & super friendly staff. My only regret is we didn't have time to experience the area to the full.A second visit,I think!!!

Cheddar is a must visit, the Gorge is incredible and the caves you pay to go inside are worth it especially once. Little shops all selling cider and cheese. The restaurants are great also. We used the Greek, honestly sooo good and the Italian was amazing also. Cheddar gets very busy on weekends so avoid using the car in the town centre if you can. We only used the car to drive to places outside cheddar- Wells- Glastonbury- Dorset - monkey world- Lulworth cove- Bath.

Beautiful sight seeing, hiking, climbing area.

Beautiful sight seeing, hiking, climbing area. Peaceful caves and gorge to sit and picnic. We decided not to pay for any of the sights and instead enjoy nature for free ss i had 4 different age groups of childre . We loved it so much, brought cream cakes from local shops and had picnic on clifftop and between caves. Beautiful drive between the caves. Seaside was 30mins drive. Halal Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant. Pizza shop and fish and chips all walking distance.

The hotel is beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, and full of charm. The location is perfect – just a short walk to Cheddar Gorge and the lovely village centre. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice and everything freshly prepared. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We would highly recommend Gordons to anyone visiting Cheddar and would love to return in the future.

So glad we stumbled across this place whilst planning a trip to Cheddar! The property is a very high quality barn conversion with all the modern fittings - the finish is beautiful. Everything was clean, fresh and modern so made for an ideal base whilst visiting the area over the weekend. If we’re ever in the area again I think we’d definitely return. Very sad to leave as could quite happily live there!

Hotel was great from the friendly staff on arrival, room was fresh clean and tidy. Evening meal was great ( you can see why they’ve won so many awards for their food, great choice of beers and drink can be found here. Atmosphere was good too. The location of the hotel allowed us easy access to local facilities plus visit Wells and Glastonbury .
