Charmouth beach was wonderful for sea glass and fossil hunting. It was a great base for setting off to Lyme Regis which has a lovely sandy beach and is a charming town. We also went further afield and enjoyed the Poole to Brownsea Island ferry, Corfe Castle, Durdle door, Kingston Lacy.

Quaint little village with 2 pubs.

Quaint little village with 2 pubs. One cafe seemed to be permanently closed. Don't bother with the beach cafe, dire. Faint echoes of COVID as you weren't allowed inside. Had to order from door and pick up at other door. Website says indoor and outside seating, not so. Got there at 3.20pm for a cuppa and a toasted teacake. We were told they had stopped serving hot food but they didn't close till 4pm. Certainly no home made cakes on display and not very welcoming at all. Don't bother with this one!

Charmouth is a delightful little town, with a few pubs and some convenience stores its an ideal little location. The beach isnt particularly sandy but perfect for fossil hunting. The little centre at the beach is amazing for tips on finding fossils and for their identification service.

Charmouth was lovely.

Charmouth was lovely. Beaches are good for both sand/kids and fossil hunting adventurers. Keep an eye on tide times. Not many places to eat, but there is a beach café and a Greek takeaway stand. Slow, but delicious food! Lots of parking. Didn't see any gift shops (but we weren't looking for them)

We like Charmouth for it's lovely location in the Dorset countryside. It is quieter than Lyme Regis and that does mean there are less facilities e.g. places to eat out but for a short stay it suits us well. Children will love the fossil hunting along the beach and Lyme is only a short distance away by car or bus. If you like walking there are plenty of good hiking trails - for example to Golden Cap and the local bus service although not very frequent is handy to get to other local spots like Axminster and Bridport.

We have visited Charmouth many times over the years and sadly the priority from the local shops and places to eat appears to be fastly rising prices and far too expensive compared to other resorts around the area with a couldn't care less attitude to their visiters, i doubt we will rush to return there in the future !!

Everything was very clean & comfortable. The decor & furnishings were beautifully presented & had plenty of drawer & wardrobe space for clothes. Lovely seating area. Perfect en-suite, tea & coffee facilities with locally sourced biscuits, water & glasses. Friendly & welcoming. Very good breakfast. Felt homely. A few short minted walk to Charmouth beach. Very good pub serving food two minutes walk away in village.

Fantastic stay in a great location. Short distance into Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Lovely walk through the woodland behind for some fabulous views of both Charmouth & Lyme Regis. Spacious enough to be cosy, great kitchen facilities to make own meals. Would recommend to anyone and would love to stay again.
