I have stayed in a few dozen places through Booking and through other platforms, and I have never given a property a straight 10 out of 10, a few days after the stay. This hotel is ideally located in south Belfast, within 2-3 minutes drive off the M1 motorway, so very easy access up Lisburn Road. However, it is not ON said Lisburn Road, but a few houses set back so no traffic noise registered when we were there. It is still walkable to the city centre, which we did twice. The surroundings of the hotel are very much red-brick Victorian/Edwardian so visually very pleasing. Inside, the look is very much a period piece but with all the mod cons - we were pleasantly surprised by the wiring in the rooms, there being a power outlet at either side of the bed (not something you usually find in these older type places). Our check-in process was marked by a friendly conversation with Taylor, the young lady at the reception. She explained how the door worked after hours: all very state-of-the-art. In short, I would recommend the hotel to most anyone - the property is a grande dame of a certain age, but not a hair out of place.

Cosy, comfortable, clean room. Easy online check-in. Nice neighbourhood full of pubs and restaurants. The noise in the ‘noisy’ room wasn't too bad, we thought it was stylish and slept like babies anyway. :-)

The accommodation gave us access to all the attractions of the SE of Northern Ireland. It was easy to get into Belfast(which is an excellent city). The Titanic museum was probably the best museum I have visited. Newcastle was also another good destination along with Strangford Loch.

The location was perfect especially if you have pets.

The location was perfect especially if you have pets. Our dog loved exploring the forest. The cottage itself was nice but unclean. We also had to clean the hot tub out ourselves before using it as it was filthy. We did put a complaint in but after an investigation reply we got no further replies.

The house was BEAUTIFUL but the owner was the real gem!

The house was BEAUTIFUL but the owner was the real gem! We are planning on staying when we return to Northern Ireland. We arrived as strangers and left as friends. He was so kind and considerate, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We arrived well past normal hours due to circumstances outside of our control. I would highly recommend, you will be so glad that you stayed.
