For business and just an overnight stay, we didn't spend a great deal of time exploring. I would definitely revisit though. Roads are clearly marked and there is lots of car parks or on street parking depending on the length of your stay. Quite hilly in some areas so worth driving around for 5 minutes to find somewhere more suitable if needed. Morrisons has a large car park limited to 3 hours. We visited the Courthouse for an evening meal and would highly recommend this pub. It's just lovely! Plenty of seating both inside and outside, with a view of the castle. Food and drink was good and the staff were polite and friendly. We also visited the Piccadilly for a game of pool. The "room" was actually a full corner of the house, an upstairs corner bedroom/hallway/bathroom suite. There were windows everywhere and a fabulous view of the Caerphilly valley. The castle is an easy walk away just down the hill, but far enough up the hill that it was silent at night. The bar & restaurant was cozy and quiet. The breakfast was bang on and the service amazingly quick. The bar prices for food and drinks were very affordable - £5.50 for 2 pints! Select full meals for £4.50 (although we never ate at the hotel for dinner). Staff were friendly and welcoming.
