FAQs about hotels in Brighton & Hove

Colourful by Day and Night

Known for colourful nightlife and traditional English seaside pursuits, Brighton and neighbour Hove are the closest beach resorts to London, making them popular end points for classic car runs from the capital. Many end at the racecourse, a few streets from Brighton Marina, Europe’s largest, housing several shops and eateries. Many Brighton guest houses on Booking.com are also nearby.

Running along the beachfront is the world’s oldest operating electric railway, ending by Brighton Pier. Lit up at night and also known as Palace Pier, this city icon houses amusements and rides, and is one place to pick up some famous Brighton Rock, the confectionery sharing its name with an edgy Graham Greene novel set here.

A new addition, the Brighton Wheel is right by the pier, while one of its most famous attractions is the Royal Pavilion, a former royal retreat built in Indian style.

Just west are 2 of the most popular Brighton shopping spots – Churchill Square shopping centre and The Lanes with its narrow streets and unusual shops. This area also has several Brighton hotels with parking, and the Artists Quarter, a series of ex-fishing huts that are now galleries. The arts are a big thing here and Brighton Festival is the UK’s 2nd largest arts festival, while Brighton Pride is also a big event on the annual calendar.

Main reason for visit was to see Stewart Lee at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall, excellent show, top draw standup performer. The Brighton Dome is a super venue with the friendliest and most helpful staff. It was November and the sea was a bit wild but the weather was still very warm and sunny during the day. I dined at some super restaurants and stayed at a very nice hotel. Brighton is a very cosmopolitan city with a lot of excellent shops and dining venues as well as being blessed with lots of sea air of course :)

Our group was treated in an exceptionally unprofessional manner at the restaurant. We were refused service because some in our group were black (other white counterparts were not treated in a similar way) despite that the restaurant was empty. Most appalling was total lack of responsibility on behalf of the management, completely false accounts by staff who mistreated our group and dismissal of the accident. Needless to say we are reporting this incident to police and hotel licensing authorities. Personally, I travel a lot and never in my life I witnessed such rude and unprofessional treatment as in this hotel.

Great location but was disappointed that we couldn’t use the pool and spa facilities while staying in the hotel. I called the day before to book a treatment but was told they were full but the pool and sauna could be used for a fee of £30 per person. I wasn’t told it was necessary to book.

I flew over from my home in Ireland to Gatwick was for the Bob Dylan concert in Brighton and back next day, so had no time to do very much sightseeing this time, but I know Brighton well, It's a great place to visit, with many quirky and interesting shops around the Lanes area, and some very nice pubs and cafes.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk down the hill from the station and very close to a street full of restaurants on one side and the high street containing all the amenities you need (pharmacy, shops, etc.) to the other. The hotel itself was quiet and the room comfortable with a small balcony that gave a partial view of the sea. The room had all the usual needed things (kettle, hair dryer, etc.) and one I didn't expect (a hot water bottle). The breakfast bar included fruit & yogurt, juice, cereals, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, some veg, tea, coffee, and toast with a variety of spreads. It was a very comfortable place to stay for a few days over a convention weekend.

A place to be yourself and explore, relax and have fun. SO many good places to eat and drink, the great beach and many galleries and shops to mooch around. If only more of the UK was like Brighton & Hove!

A great base for a weekend in Brighton and Hove, close to the seafront but some way from the centre so quieter than some central hotels. Very clean and a comfortable bed. The hotel laid on an early breakfast for participants in the Brighton Marathon. The restaurant doesn't serve an evening meal, but there's a great choice of cafes and restaurants nearby and if you prefer a takeaway the hotel will provide crockery and cutlery to eat it in the bar.

Needed a bed for the night after a festival and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Room was a good size and spotlessly clean. Everything I needed for a basic stay was provided. Hotel is right on the seafront and very close to town. There’s even parking, which seems expensive at first but when compared to other options in Brighton is actually cheaper. Didn’t have breakfast or use other facilities.

Great location in Kemp Town near the centre of Brighton. Staff were fantastic. Parking was not as difficult or as expensive as we had feared (we were lucky and managed to park in the street just few yards down from the hotel using a parking permit purchased from the hotel). Bar lounge/area was very nice for cocktails.

Super Breakfast! Also tasty gluten free bread available. I loved my cosy quite and little room at the third floor. Excellent area for food and drinks near by. From the hotel you see the pier and you are in 2 minutes at the lovely Brighton pebble beach…I can highly recommend it and like to come back next time.

Superb location near the beach and city centre. Comfortable clean room and quiet despite its proximity to the centre of Brighton. I didn't have food at the hotel so cannot comment on that. Online check in and check out very easy and convenient.
