The property was clean, warm and welcoming. Richard and his team welcomed me and my family. The bedrooms, bathroom, living room, kitchen/dining area was perfect. There is a shop close by with everything you need and a pharmacy if you need. Everything was great and I would definitely recommend this property for a family. There was 5 of us and space for one more. As an additional, parking was great, they even cater for electric vehicles. Thank you Richard.

    We stayed in the absolutely wonderful Gwesty Seren Hotel and did the 70 mph Titan Zip line, fantastic. Take a bee-line for the grapes hotel bar and restaurant to eat out, amazing. Photo is one of the amazing views from the Gwesty Seren Hotel

    Blaenau-Ffestiniog isn't a place I would choose to revisit.

    Blaenau-Ffestiniog isn't a place I would choose to revisit. It's old and tired, situated beside a slate quarry. Most of the pubs have closed. It has two thriving shops, the COOP and Morrisons. The narrow roads, and linear layout were off putting for me, although the railway has always been an popular.

    The village its self has a good size coop and nice fish and chip shop, friendlier this time than I have experienced in the past. Not far from betws y coed which is very friendly and caters for outdoorsy people. Not a long drive to the coast or snowdonia so a good base if you don't mind driving. Obviously great for mountain biking (Antur stinog) and if you want to visit zip world

    Traditional Welsh ex-mining village/small with a stunning...

    Traditional Welsh ex-mining village/small with a stunning mountainous backdrop. Blaunau-Ffestiniog is definitely a sad relic of a once thriving town although still retains a of charm. Serviced by a small Morrisons and Coop and limited selection of eateries (mainly takeaways). If you're looking for a cosy pub and a dining experience you definitely need to go further afield. The location offers much more cost effective accommodation for Snowdon Hikers compared to that in towns like Llanberis or accommodation nearer the Snowdon routes. If you're happy to drive, the Pen Y Pas car park is about a 30 minutes away and Llanberis about 40 and the route takes you through stunning mountain terrain. If you're looking for a busy, lively tourist trap near Snowdon, Blaenau-Ffesiniog is not for you. If you're looking for cheaper accommodation with alternative hiking routes a stones throw away, you won't go wrong here.

    The accommodation could not have been better.

    The accommodation could not have been better. Amazing little pod. Fantastic toilet and showers, very comfy beds and clean towels. Staff were really helpful and punctual. However … the location wasn’t for us. The site is a working quarry and with that lorry’s do pass by at a distance. The noise was okay but I suppose the view was not to our taste. It’s would be a great family base for the local area if you want to get the kids away from devices etc and reconnect with each other

    It is a lovely little village in the mountains. good walking...

    It is a lovely little village in the mountains. good walking possiblities. you have two good sized supermarkets. Quiet . you can easily reach main attractions by car. We usually had our main meal lunchtime. but we did have fish and chips takeaway but ate them in local pub. The landlord said we could and enjoyed a pint at the same time.

    We stayed for one night, and the Grapes Hotel is at the halfway point of the Traws Eryri biking route, which we did over two days. It's four miles off the route, but the perfect place to stay, they let us drop a bag off the day before our stay, which really helped and have secure bike storage. The warm, nothing too much trouble attitude of the staff was first class. The evening meal was amazing too. I definitely would recommend The grapes hotel bar and restaurant

    Nothing the place was a hell hole , how they can advertise on here as a hotel is beyond me it’s worse then bad I paid 180 pounds in advance for two days , arrived , was mortified within ten mins and left .. never to return it was disgusting on every aspect
