There are only 2 buildings in Binegar.

There are only 2 buildings in Binegar. The Mendip and a JCB shop. It is about 5 miles from anywhere. It is a good spot for visiting nearby towns. The Mendip has a good menu, pretty busy on a Saturday night. Nothing stands out as being bad, so would not change anything for our next visit

Comfortable and cozy small room.

Comfortable and cozy small room. Good tea tray and breakfast bag. Quick check in and easy parking. Room hot and noisy due to limited internal sound proofing. In addition needed to have window open all night due to heat. Lots of noise from traffic and night time disturbance from house next door

Binegar is an old cultural town. Peaceful and calm. The popular fish & Chip was really good. It is easy to get around if you have your own transportation, but I think there is a public bus too. If I have a chance I will come again here.

The area around the hotel is countryside, but within 5 miles and up to 20 miles there are many places of interest: Wells Cathedral, Bradford on Avon and canals, Nunny Castle, Glastobury, Cheddar Gorge and caves, car museum Haynes, Shepton Mallet Prison museum, aircraft museum and much more.

Binegar was just part of the address, not sure if it is a nearby village. The nearest town is Shepton Mallet, which is an interesting historic town, but sadly after trekking all the way uphill to where the Tourist Information was signposted, we found it had closed down! Also, it was Wednesday, which apparently means a lot of things are closed and the town was rather deserted. A better place to visit is the nearby small city of Wells, which has a marvellous cathedral and fine historic quarter, plenty of cafes and some interesting shops. Unless you particularly want to visit, avoid the area around Wookey Hole, especially during school holidays!
