We were booked for one night in Bexlet.

We were booked for one night in Bexlet. The accommodation was awful. The bed linen, sheets, duvet and pillows were all damp and the heater did not work. The access was extremely difficult. The male contact by phone was not interested in our complaints. We decided it would be inadvisable to stay, as my husband had just recovered from pneumonia. We were lucky to manage to book in to another hotel which was excellent although it cost us £160 extra, We had stayed there before through Booking.com. For Bexlet I would give them zero out of ten and I still cannot believe that Booking, com could have actually checked out that accommodation. Dreadful.

Lovely seaside town.

Lovely seaside town. Not too busy with tourists and train service to larger seaside resorts running throughout the day. Lovely places to grab a coffee or food. Really enjoyed dinner in Bentley's Steakhouse and the Picnic Basket does really good affordable breakfasts. Lots of other eateries along the sea front and lovely views from De Warr Pavilion if you fancy stopping there for a coffee.

The apartment was really nice and comfortable, aside from a neighbour banging on the door telling us the kids was running too much and we upsetting his dogs. 😊 every other thing was nice, really close to the beach, and loads of shop to buy things from.

A Great town.

A Great town. Love the long, quiet beach walks on the promenade. Pebbled beach, but lots of sand when the tide is out. Seems very clean. Lack of public toilets though. Limited hotels. Nothing along the beach at all, except a few restaurants and cafes opposite. and one cafe one end, and another beach cafe the other end. Unlike Brighton, Hastings or Eastbourne, where as you have everything from piers, cafes, restaurants, arcades etc. This is a place to enjoy for its beauty, quaintness, tranquility if that is what your after. The town is vey old, Edwardian. Limited shops, vey few major shops, but plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafes, social clubs,. Snooker Club. Like many towns, it does look a bit run down in places, but there are some beautiful scenery to be had from the beach front. People are very friendly and helpful in general, with a very nice atmosphere about the place. And it has the beautiful iconic Art-Deco, De-La-Warr Pavilion, on the seafront, which is a must visit. As I mentioned. It’s not the trendiest of beach towns like Brighton, but if you prefer the quieter places to stroll along the promenade, with no overcrowding, It’s a town that would suit a lot of middle aged people, who want to feel safe.

Has all the amenities you'd need to feel at home. The living room (and bedrooms) are extremely comfortable, the TV has a firebox so you've got all you could need. Very close to Bexhill town and Collington train station and seafront. A Tesco express just a 2 minute walk away. Lovely kitchen. Very helpful and kind owner with absolutely no confusion about how to get in using the keybox, or trying to find location, all information given to you very clearly.

The owner was very welcoming. Thought had gone into making the stay special by providing board games, cards, sun tan lotion, mosquito spray along with milk, bread, butter, tea, coffee and sugar, BBQ plus a lot more. I highly recommend staying in Bexhill Old Town Retreat and visiting Bexhill Museum, De La Warr Pavilion with a trip to Hastings Old Town.
