Beaconsfield is a lovely small village which we enjoyed walking through with its own independent shops and restaurants. We then drove to Bourne End Marina which is the head of the River Thames and is stunning. Finally stopped at Marlow around lunchtime and was very impressed with this town, fab shops, restaurants and bars.

I Had to use taxis whilst there as I’m not a car driver.

I Had to use taxis whilst there as I’m not a car driver. Old and new Beaconsfield are a short distance away from each other which I visited and taxi fares were reasonable. The IBIS hotel was within easy reach, along with a service station which was next door. Railway station near the new town of Beaconsfield with links to London. Friendly local people. Beaconsfield old and new part of the town have coffee shops/restaurants to choose from. In all a nice town to visit if passing through.

I was brought up in Beaconsfield so I am biased. Make a great alternative base for London. The train into Marylebone is rapid and frequent. The Old Town has many pubs, restaurants and much character.

We have family in Beaconsfield and vist them regularly. It is an attractive, expensive dormitary town and does not have many visitor attractions. One of note however is the Model Village. Winsor, Cookham, Marlow are close by. There is a direct rail line to London Marylebone with a very frequent service.

The hotel is near Beaconsfield, at Wooburn Common, but not in the town centre. I didn't visit Beaconsfield, this time, but have been many times and the old town is nice for mooching, with pubs, restaurants & shops and the old church. There is a famous Model Village nearby - but I haven't been for about 50 years!

We had a wonderful stay at Jean’s place in Beaconsfield. The apartment was spotless, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. Jean was always available, incredibly friendly, and very accommodating — even letting us check out late with no fuss. When we mentioned that the outdoor bench was broken, she replaced it the very same day, so we could enjoy the evening outside. We truly felt cared for and would highly recommend this stay to anyone. Thank you, Jean!
