FAQs about hotels in Bath

Roman Remains and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Bath is really beautiful with lots of great shops, interesting independent shops, cafes, restaurants and tourist attractions- but there are far too many buskers in every pretty square and street corner! The problem is we didn’t come across one who could sing or play their instrument well - and they all had amplifiers and we’re very loud! It made it impossible to sit outside and enjoy the city. I can’t understand the city council that they allow this. I suspect the doesn’t allow begging (I didn’t see any) so they’ve all become buskers but not very good ones!

Lots to see and do; I discovered the Holbourne museum on this trip - well worth a visit. The Thermae Spa is a favourite! Lots of great shops and restaurants. Next time I want to go to a rugby match at the Rec!

Even in the rain it's a beautiful city with magnificent buildings and an amazing history ... Saxon, Roman, Medieval, Renaissance & Georgian. Sadly our stay was only too short to do it justice. We'll be back!

Bath is a beautiful city, so much to see, full of history, really easy to get around, everything is in walking distance, or the uber and buses are readily available. If you dont know much about Barth's history then the Roman baths are definitely worth a visit, the rooftop spa is also a must, with its 2 pools, and sauna and steam room's, there's nothing quite like chilling out in the rooftop pool looking over the spectacular views of the city. We had an amazing Italian meal, there are so many restaurants in Bath with mouth watering menus to choose from, We had an amazing visit, we went to see the rugby, then a couple of hour's at the spa, the rooftop pool was amazing, we have had a really chilled weekend.

Fantastic city with lots of things to see, most of which are walkable. The city centre is wonderful with lots of well known attractions. We are particularly fond of canals and the K&A is great. We ate at Cosy Club and Tagine Zhor, both of which we would highly recommend.

I had the most brilliant and welcoming stay at Henrietta House. The hotel is beautiful. My room was perfect for what I needed. I had the best night's sleep in a long time! The breakfast was delicious. The hotel manager Rajeev was so kind and professional, answering all of my questions and helping me to find a space to do my work during my stay in Bath.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The hotel is a bit removed from the city centre (hence the lower price) but actually it is within walking distance (15-20 minutes depending on pace) and 5 minutes by bus. The room has airco and a little balcony overlooking the rear of the buildings.

Beautiful hotel just 10mins walk from the Roman baths and the city centre. Staff were great, loved the little show around when we arrived. The room was very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is freshly prepared as soon as you order it, but there are also some fruit and cereal on the buffet
