Baslow is a perfect base for the peaks.

Baslow is a perfect base for the peaks. You have lots of amenities in the village, nice pubs, cafes and shops all within walking distance. Literally on chatsworth doorstep and all other peak attractions no more than a 10 to 15 minute drive in any direction. Main road quite busy but to be expected for a central location.

A great base for visiting the Derbyshire towns and Chatsworth estate, with a good choice of places to stay and places to eat. The open top busd route goes through the village, so all the main places can be visited without the car!

Staying in Baslow is a delight, so easy to reach by road, the scenery is heavenly, the little villages quaint and welcoming, Chatsworth Farm Shop is superb - buy the Chatsworth Claret!! It's excellent!! and the salted caramel truffles utterly deelish!! A heart warmingly delightful place to visit, thoroughly recommend. Try and make it when the weather is nice or hunker down in the winter by a cracking fire and enjoy the fine food.

A lovely village with lots of amenities and access to many walks through the glorious Chatsworth estate. We had a lovely family meal at the Wheatsheaf, lovely and very helpful staff, delicious food, and dog friendly. The main road through the village is very busy and we found it extremely difficult getting out of the village especially when wanting to travel in the Chesterfield direction.

Nice village, plenty of places to eat, centrally located for access to Bakewell, Chesterfield and the Peak District National Park. Chatsworth House less than 2 miles away. Plenty of decent pubs/restaurants to eat at reasonable prices. No need to get in the car to get around the village everything an easy walk.

This is a lovely Inn in a quiet village, set in the beautiful Derbyshire Countryside, and a short drive, or walk to Chatsworth House. The staff are friendly, the bedrooms well appointed and comfortable, and a great breakfast. Overall a pleasant place to stay, with a relaxing ambience.

The hosts have been very thoughtful, nightlights provided in the upstairs hallway, milk, tea, coffee and biscuits. Bin bags for your rubbish, good Wi-Fi, books and games, wood for the fire, looked like sky tv (didn’t need to use), bottles of shampoo and conditioner, even seat pads for the outside picnic bench. The host has painted some very good animal pictures. Nearby Chatsworth house is very expensive, but the associated farm shop is very good and reasonably priced.
