Cowslip is a fantastically located, well furnished, and well presented lodge. We cooked lovely meals and enjoyed spending time in the family areas during our stay. The attention to detail with the decor and furniture choices doesn’t go unnoticed. The bottle of wine, and biscuits upon arrival is a nice touch! A fabulous base to explore the beaches and castle from!

From the time we were checked in by Georgia at reception we experienced nothing but excellent service. She was very welcoming, friendly, efficient and helpful. We booked the accessible room and the facilities were really good. The little stair lift made it easy to get to reception with a wheelie walker, the room and bathroom were warm, comfortable, very spacious and easy to navigate for someone with mobility problems. All the hospitality staff made dinner and breakfast in the restaurant a great experience. They were friendly, quietly efficient and our food and drinks were served very quickly. The views out to the ocean from the dining area and bar/ sitting room are beautiful and added to the enjoyment of delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented meals. The tasteful Christmas decorations added to the lovely atmosphere. The property is easy to find and very conveniently located to access the town and coastal walks. On site parking was a bonus. Our whole experience at the Beach House was far above our expectations and we would definitely recommend staying there. Wish we could have been there longer !

    Lovely village.

    Lovely village. Bamburgh Castle is definitely worth visiting, so many exhibits to see. Good local butcher who sells great pies, scotch eggs and sausage rolls. Lovely lady who does great salad boxes, olives, quiche, sandwiches for lunch. Beach is beautiful and the views are amazing. The Middle Inn is reasonably priced for food and has a nice outdoor eating area. A car is essential for getting around the area.

    Bamburgh is a small but very pretty place with an amazing castle and stunning beach. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and it is a great place to stay for anyone wishing to relax, enjoy the beach or to visit Lindisfarne. The local seafood is very good. We especially enjoyed the seafood sharing platter at The Middle Inn. We also enjoyed The Lord Crewe for an evening drink.

    Bamburgh Castle was excellent would definitely visit again.

    Bamburgh Castle was excellent would definitely visit again. The village is beautiful and well looked after. We also visited Seahouses a busy fishing village, expensive for parking, we had an Indian meal and this was first class food. Walked round the harbour it was a busy with lots of working fishing boats and tourist tour boats.

    Much busier than it used to be but a lovely place to visit. The Grace Darling Museum is great, as is the church. The Copper Kettle Tea Rooms are fantastic and the staff remember you, as they do in The Victoria Hotel restaurant, which is also good. The Walled Garden is smart and a great place for children and the gardens are beautiful, The castle is breath taking and the recreation green is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Access to the beach is difficult if you have mobility issues and parking can be a nightmare. If you are staying in Bamburgh but need to drive to the local attractions, you can park in the new carpark but at a fixed rate of 6 pounds!!

    Fantastic beach, huge skies and beautiful views of the coast towards Lindisfarne to the north and the Farne islands to the south. Awesome castle ( and very interesting to visit). Very attractive and immaculate village. As a Londoner this was the visit I needed and hope to repeat.

    The village has loads of character and we enjoyed the Museum...

    The village has loads of character and we enjoyed the Museum and Castle very much..We ate in the Middle Inn a couple times and found the staff friendly and food good.Overall a very central point for visiting that part of the world.

    Very Spacious & Special Property In A Fabulous Location. Spectacular Views From The Lovely Large And Private Garden. Castle & Beach On The Doorstep & Short Stroll Away From All The Eateries That Bamburgh Has To Offer. Loved Looking At The Highland Cows And Gorgeous Horse In The Neighbouring Field & Also The Views Of The Castle. Highly Recommend & Definitely Come Back.

    the room we had was comfortable and a good size overlooking Bamburgh Castle. was of a good standard and very clean. the atmosphere was lovely at the hotel and the staff were brilliant, always happy to help out. the food was amazing and i think the best breakfast i have had for a very long time. excellent food available on the menu for evening meals too.
