Ansty is a very quiet location, the Fox Inn is a superb Inn...

Ansty is a very quiet location, the Fox Inn is a superb Inn and is also dog friendly. Opposite the Fox Inn is the Old Brewery Farm if you prefer you can rent lodges or camp, there is also a shop and post office onsite that is very handy, There are plenty of lovely walks.

Beautiful area , great walks around the Dorset Gap. So peaceful and quiet. Great hosts at the farm, tasty food , loved making friends with the calves. Friendly people in the local pup with good food.

The Fox inn is a dog friendly place which is situated in a lovely rural location and there are nice walks. The Inn itself tastefully decorated. the rooms are well appointed, the staff are friendly the food both for breakfast and dinner is great.

Room ready in time. Clean, lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Beautiful setting and friendly staff. Exactly what we expected as it was honest saying no frills. All we were after was a comfy bed for the night and a good breakfast to get us on our way the next morning. Very peaceful and pleasant.

I loved the setting of the pub/hotel.

I loved the setting of the pub/hotel. It's a quiet village, set in beautiful Dorset countryside. You would need your own transport to the village I imagine (not sure if it's on a bus route and if so, how frequent) and it's probably a bit too remote to rely on taxis (could be expensive). It's a great area for walking.

The room was a very generous size and well decorated.

The room was a very generous size and well decorated. The house has great character and you’re made to feel at home. The guest room bathrooms are connected by a wall that you can clearly hear your neighbouring guests through, there’s not much that could fix that and didn’t cause too much of a problem for us. Claire made a great host, she was full of information and stories, something that I love about visiting a new area and home.

Hotel was all we needed for a last minute get away. We had 3 days to look around Dorchester and surrounding district. All were within 30mls Poole Weymouth Dorchester and Portland including Portland Bill. The hotel offerred a comfortable bed good food and drink for two weary souls and two dogs. The dogs were made welcome throughout the hotel grounds and bar and short local walks kept them happy.

Lovely large room and a bathroom with a bath and separate shower .. that was a surprise. The hotel is set in a lovely location and the room was nicely quiet; we'd return. Breakfast - we hadn't expected anything other than a continental breakfast, so were surprised to find a full English and other hot options available (although there was an extra charge for this)

The location was absolutely amazing! Beautiful Grade 1 listed building with a lot of history and completely surrounded in amazing scenery. Nicky and Simon have a brilliant place here and make you feel very welcome! Big thanks to Nicky for being the best host of any hotel/B&B I have ever been to. Will definitely be back!

Room was very comfortable, although TV channels were poor. Excellent honesty box for emergency snacks. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. food was excellent but limited menu. very good farm shop across the road. Very quite setting. Dog friendly hotel.
