Lovely area with easy access from Waverley station Edinburgh. Enjoyed the local castle and beaches. Excellent local delicatessen for wholesome food. Well-appointed, attractive, cosy accommodation... good lighting, flooring, furniture, heating, bedding, fridge, cooker, washing machine, garden ... good everything... just a few of items missing from the kitchen in our opinion...proper kitchen scissors, water glasses, 10" main course plates and a wooden spoon. We would also have liked to have available kitchen towels and paper napkins ..but possibly we should regard these as needing to come with us. However...overall, I would say this is one of the best self catering properties I have ever used and excellent value for money.

The house was perfect for us. It was beautifully decorated and had a spacious living room and bedrooms. All of the bedrooms were ensuite, which was brilliant for 2 children and a disabled adult, who were part of our family group of 5. It was so near to the beach and a lovely park, and also handy for Burntisland and Deep Sea World, which the children were keen to visit. There was a very nice welcome pack as well. For a person with limited mobility, it was a very short distance from the car to the front door, and it had handrails fitted to the whole staircase, which was great. We had a lovely little cafe at the end of the road and a general store on the main street which was open till 8.00. It was a typical Fife village with very narrow streets, but as long as you took your time, it was fine. There wasn't a lot of parking on the street but we had been forewarned about this by our hosts and given advice how to manage it, so we always managed to park our car at the house during our break.. Again, this is very typical of Fife coastal villages, so it didn't come as a surprise. The house fitted all of our needs perfectly and we had a wonderful break. We will definitely be back and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The historical feeling of the village, no take aways and litter etc. Just a very pleasant and well kept village roughly half an hour from Edinburgh by frequent train. Close to the beautifully kept station and lovely walks along the coast and countryside. Small local supermarket and the odd cafe but the hotel does evening meals etc too.

The cottage was beautiful and tastefully decorated. The bathroom is on ground floor with a large walk-in shower There is a sea view from the bedroom window, parking at the front door and a sort walk to the beach. There are a few shops in the village - post office, a deli and gift shop. The train station to Edinburgh is a five minute walk. The whole stay was perfect.

It's such a gorgeous apartment that has clearly been renovated recently, whilst still keeping so much charm! Aberdour is a lovely little village with everything you could need and the train station is a 2 min walk to commute to and from wherever you may need. Less than 30 mins to Edinburgh!

Aberdour is very well served with local shops, cafes and pubs. Garden Cottage is only 100 metres walk from a quiet beach and small harbour serving the local yacht club. Easy travel into Edinburgh; 30 mins by train. Kids (of all ages) will enjoy the trip over the Forth Rail Bridge.
