FAQs about hotels in Aberdeen

Charm, Granite, Energy and Blooms

With a gently rolling landscape, Aberdeen moves elegantly between sandy beaches, picturesque stone houses, and blooming gardens. As Scotland’s 3rd-largest city, it is home to important universities, a busy harbour, and is a hub for the oil industry in the North Sea.

Walk along the Union Street ‘Granite Mile’, and visit some of the historic places like the Town House, Castlegate, or ‘Provost Skene’s House’. Don’t miss the Art Gallery and the Maritime Museum, and do some shopping in the city’s trendy shops. Choosing hotels in Aberdeen’s city centre allows you to explore this compact city on foot.

The charming Old Town is filled with bookstores, old buildings like the King’s College, and student cafés. The city won the ‘Britain in Bloom’ prize a stunning 10 times for its well-kept gardens.

The local airport offers direct train links with the central railway and coach station. Staying in a B&B, a cottage, or a hotel near Aberdeen Airport is a way to avoid the last-minute rush, while enjoying the surrounding green hills.

I was only there three days on business and didn't get much time to look around which is a shame as I think Aberdeen has a lot to see and a lot of history. I was looking for a good restaurant but all I seemed to find in the town was fast food and takeaways. What did stand out was the cleanliness of the place, no litter and rubbish on the streets. If you are going there, plan ahead and find the things you want to see ;)

Some lovely old buildings, fun to watch the busy port right in the middle of town. Interesting view of oil rigs a couple of miles off the coast. It would certainly have repaid a longer stay. Aberdeen is a pedestrian friendly town and seems to have a more than adequate bus service.

I t was a 1 night stay as we were getting the ferry to Orkney the following day. Decent entertainment complex amusements, crazy golf, bowling etc plus eateries right on the seafront. We did walk to the end of the beach and had a wander round the quirky fishing village of Footdee. Also went into the town Centre typical shops to be found there.

We came to Aberdeen to visit family so we had a wonderful time. We have been to Aberdeen several times and find that the town centre now seems like a ghost town, but going to different places such as Balmoral and the Cairngorms is absolutely beautiful some stunning scenery

The city centre is easy to walk around with a good choice of bars and restaurants. Union Street needs a serious facelift but Union Square is good for shopping. There are some lovely gardens and the beach is also worth a visit.

This is our first visit to Aberdeen and the Hotel had the best location- easy access to the airport and city centre. Great value for money; most affordable in the area. Though old property but the cleanliness is top-notch. The night receptionist- Michael was so kind and helpful with information about the environment. The other staff also respected privacy- The HK attendant before check-out followed the hospitality protocols and didn’t barge into our room. We will definitely visit again when next we come to Aberdeen.

Location is perfect for Aberdeen stays, shopping or for onward journeys by train or buses to the airport and other points in Scotland. Was able to shop within Union Square in a more relaxed manner because I could do so without jackets which were left in the room.
