    We loved the narrow streets, with bars and bistros everywhere. The cathedral is a very striking building, and can be seen from long distances. We enjoyed the markets, and the general atmosphere of the town. We felt safe walking round.

    Some splendid buildings including the two churches.

    Some splendid buildings including the two churches. The Vesunna museum is outstanding. The Wednesday market is lively and sells local produce. The town is full of excellent reasonably priced restaurants.

    On reflection we should have spent more time in Périgueux...

    On reflection we should have spent more time in Périgueux and less time in Paris. It’s a beautiful location and travelling by train allowed us the opportunity to view the country side and surrounding towns on the way to Périgueux.

    Clean, easy to get round, not at all touristy, just a pleasant French town in the Perigord region. Unfortunately, I wasn't there long enough to explore the wider area. It was a nice change from Bergerac. I was looking forward to seeing the greco-roman remains but it was closed - it being a Monday.

    This was my first visit to Perigueux and I was very impressed at how beautiful and interesting it was. Although my visit was short, it was easy to see how lovely the area and surrounding countryside was. I would definitely go back for a longer visit and explore the area further.

    Such interesting history & architecture to see. Very pretty. The Cathedral :) The lovely little streets with old buildings, lots of little shops and cafes. Take Le petit train for a really good trip around Perigeux with commentary. Walk by the river. The tower & Roman info, museum also fabulous. Take your pick - all lovely, tranquil yet busy & picturesque. Solo traveller

    Great apartment in a superb location right by the river (with view) and near the cathedral and old town. The apartment was in a building of character; it was spacious with a huge lounge; and it had a small terrace with table and chairs. Well-equipped kitchen - good facilities in the apartment (home from home). We arrived in Perigueux on foot (walking the Camino!) so this was perfect for us for a two night stay to relax and visit the beautiful city.

    The property was in an excellent location, right in the centre of Perigueux, just a minute or two to most bars and restaurants. Good price and would recommend. It was a great size, clean and comfortable. The property had everything necessary to make it the perfect place to use as a base to explore Perigueux and the surrounding area.

    Location is fabulous, in the “heart of the old town” just as it’s called ! Perfect for our overnight stay in Périgueux, everything within walking distance. Super clean and cosy. Only challenge would be for those with mobility problems as steep staircase up two floors. No lift.
