I received a phone call from the host as I finally reached the top of my long climb into the Ardèche during a long distance cycle race. Enquiring as to when I would arrive. I explained my fatigue and that it might take some time. I was assured that this was not a problem. On arrival I was greeted very warmly, shown my room and invited to dine too. During my whole 9 day, 2700km trip this was the only time I felt I just had to stay for breakfast, so kind were my hosts. The location is truly spectacular. By night the sense of peace and tranquility is extraordinary.

Wonderful to find good accommodation that welcomed my dog with the additional bonus of a truly exceptional evening meal. I walked in to Monastier on the GR 70 . The location is a former High St. shop. The owner & host is very good & very kind - making a reservation for me for Dinner for example. Breakfast was excellent
