Gerardmer is in the beautiful and dense pine forest of the Vosges. It is perfect for hiking, whether it be short and easy around the lake or hard and rocky up the mountain to visit the observation tower. Water falls and isolated villages are abundant. They kindly replied it was not a problem and sent us a text with the way to get in via the night entrance using a code etc. Perfect! Bigger room than expected; really comfortable bed, big lovely shower, everything was perfectly clean and proper breakfast in the morning with a lot of choice.
