We stayed at this lovely new hotel as a family and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Although we didn’t have breakfast, it looked beautifully presented and very inviting. The location in this charming small town is peaceful and picturesque—perfect for a relaxing stay. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully designed. As a newly opened hotel, everything is modern and in excellent condition. We truly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t change a thing. Highly recommended!

Never mind the Michelin star, just go for the food. It’s an iconic institution proud of their cuisine and justifiably so. Helpful and friendly too. Look for the letter from President Eisenhower on the wall of the restaurant.

The area is very pretty. We had a room with a balcony which was very comfortable and we slept well in the large bed with crisp linen. The view from the balcony was amazing as was the food. Every bit of food we had was delicious and would not be out of place in a top London Restaurant. The whole experience was very special. The nearby town of Espilate was worth a visit. There is a Chilli farm where you can enjoy a tasting and buy local produce. The staff are very approachable and friendly.

This is a small town, but I found plenty of shops and restaurants. I did take day trips each day to other towns, and I think if I have stayed in Espelette for two full days without leaving, I would have been a bit bored. That said, it was the best town to stay in, amenity- and location-wise. I'd definitely stay here again when I'm in the region.

A charming village, but primarily touristy, close to other sites such as Itxassou (note that the road to the Pas de Roland is closed in summer), Cambo-les-Bains, Lac de Saint-Pée, and of course the ocean (Biarritz, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, etc.). No petrol stations or supermarkets.

Some restaurants were closed even though it was supposed to...

Some restaurants were closed even though it was supposed to be opening day. A certain neighbor on a side street didn't want to be bothered by tourists, even though parking wasn't prohibited and his vehicle was properly parked. Yet another person who doesn't realize that tourism is the lifeblood of their town. I'm going to speak to the tourist office about it.

Wonderful house with spacious room, wonderful garden. Very quiet surroundings, perfect to relax on the terrace. Location is perfect to explore the Pays Basque. Breakfast was very good and a lot. The hosts are very friendly and provided lots of useful information on restaurants and activities. You can walk from the house to Espelette where you can find restaurants and bars. We liked this a lot! Merci beaucoup!
