Peace and quite location, we slept very well at the spot. The breakfast was nice, especially we appreciated home made jams. In the room there is AC, which makes heating too and that was super practical, because it warmed up the room in couple of minute. And it is a very quiet model, we could sleep with it on.

The cottage is 3km from Decazeville, a cute little town, nothing special, but the surrounding area has plenty of sites to visit, and opposite the cottage there's an old bridge over the Lot River. This cottage is on the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago).

Decazeville, as you pass along the main road, hides its...

Decazeville, as you pass along the main road, hides its charms like many French towns; you'll have to venture further to discover little gems of Aveyron architecture. For my part, the visit was limited to the tattoo convention organized by two prominent figures in the tattoo world, Dam and Mimiss Tartouille, a charming and energetic couple.

The gentleman who helped us was kindness itself. No complaints. I think, like most reviews state, a little updating would go a long way. Wifi was great. We had a wonderful little patio from which we ate a little takeout dinner from the Vietnamese Restaurant next door. Quite a distance from train station, but we took a taxi. Location was close to several restaurants/bars and a laundromat and a Carrefour grocery. Beds were okay, clean and neat. Quiet. I feel Decazeville it was a good value

The most outstanding thing about the hotel was the staff. The gentleman who checked me in drove over before the normal check in time to get me into my room. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a nice Vietnamese restaurant a few doors away that was perfect for dinner and the Carrefour convenience store is about 5 minutes away.

It was fine. Decazeville is a very run down town, with a lot of shop fronts closed up and to rent. Hotel Malpel is reasonable and close to the church which is worth a visit and close to some bars and restaurants (La Cantina is worth a visit)
