This is a lovely town house in the centre of Bergues.
This is a lovely town house in the centre of Bergues. Very unassuming from the outside but was a delight to stay there - modern bathroom and kitchen and well decorated, with a very thoughtful host who left us coffee pods for the coffee machine and friendly instructions/ need to knows for the property and surrounding area. We were travelling as a group of friends - two adults and two teenagers who enjoyed getting fresh croissants for breakfast each morning and exploring the beautiful town of Bergues which is steeped in history and character. A highlight was a meal on the market square in the evening watching local children play in the fountains; stumbling on a local beer festival and sausage eating contest and exploring the ramparts and history of the town. Can recommend the little “train” ride around the town. This stay was one of our favourite parts of our holiday touring France / Belgium.Guest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bergues is a beautiful little town, walled and moated, which simply oozes history. There's lots to explore and to see, and plenty of high-quality eateries. We chose our old favourite, "le Berquenard", which is actually a lively pub/bistro and next door to the B&B, but that's our choice as we didn't want a three-course meal, and like the liveliness of a French weekend! For me it is a place to start or end my journey through Europe. If going to the uk this still applies. A lovely small town with plenty of history and it’s close to loads of interesting places. We liked everything, the hostess was very friendly and showed us to our rooms before explaining about breakfast. The rooms were large and comfortable, the beds were also comfortable.
