    Avallon is an attractive market town in northern Burgundy.

    Avallon is an attractive market town in northern Burgundy. It is immersed in beautiful countryside, and is of a manageable size for walking around, sampling the shops, cafes, and restaurants, and enjoying the Burgundian architecture. It is quiet in May. It can be a nice base for a few days to adventure to nearby sites such as Vezelay and the Bazoche chateau.

    The Hotel was wonderfully older style French & charming, we had a good evening meal & breakfast was grand. There was a garden to the rear of the property which allowed us to park our motorcycles with reasonable security off the main road.
