Lovely people.

Lovely people. They don’t even have a police station in town, shows you the level of serious crime. They substitute a Facebook group for lost and found items. Very friendly. Beautiful location, nice bike rides although the quality of bikes for rent leaves much to be desired.

Like most towns in Finland when the sun sets, the knowledge...

Like most towns in Finland when the sun sets, the knowledge of where to go evaporates. A small newsprint directly targeting visitors for after hours would be nice. I heard four different languages while there so I could not ask for more with politeness and understanding. Hanko is a popular summer destination and a launching pad for the archipelago so nothing I write will change that. However, like St. Louis Missouri (where I was born) the history of the Russian presence should not be swept away. Its evident in the architecture but not so much in print. The border states in the United States have had a dual allegiance to the South as well as the Union. I think Hango could build on that.

This guesthouse is a wonderful and a very convenient place to stay in Hanko! The hotel manager was superbly accommodating and helpful - sharing many local tips for what to explore in the city. The room was very nice, spacious, with all facilities, and even a teapot. The whole setting with breakfast bags and make-your-own coffee in the kitchen is organised very neatly, allowing a lot of flexibility in the morning. The location is also great, very close to the railway station, to the Hanko Museum, and just a bridge away from the city centre.

Comfortable hotel. Dog friendly. Free parking. Everything in the room is fresh, new and clean. Comfortable bed and no sounds of trains disturbed us. Nearby there is a shop and fast food restaurants and in the building there is a cafe. There is also a taxi station nearby. Overall, we and our dog really enjoyed it. Perfect for the weekend!

I was extremely surprised the room was spacious and near upscale as some finer hotels. Then again, the manager was most accommodating. The breakfast was very good as well.

Nice that it had private parking and was easy to check into without assistance from anyone. This is the old stationhouse in Hanko which has been converted to a hotel.
