We loved the house surrounded by the family's beautiful peach orchard, the vicinity to the river, the superb breakfast on the roof, and above all the wonderful stuff that was very friendly and very helpful.

We booked the 2 bedroom apartment within Casa Margalef for family members coming to stay with us in the village. The decor, finishings and outside areas are excellent and the whole building has been done up with a real eye for detail and style. There's a beautiful courtyard and pool area with comfy seating, another large outside space with covered seating.

    Tivissa is such a beautiful, timeless, unspoilt example of a...

    Tivissa is such a beautiful, timeless, unspoilt example of a medieval fortress town. The labyrinth of narrow winding streets, old buildings - some going back to the 14th century - are mesmerising. The town sits on a rock plateau surrounded by the most beautiful landscape, cradled in a horse shoe shape of mountains - La Llena Massif. Venturing outside of the town, just a short drive you can visit the Mediterranean coast, where you will find some of the cleanest, quietest beaches in Cataluya. If you love history and heritage there are also Iberian ruins just outside of town too, dated from the 4th & 5th century BC, the Castellet De Banyoles. Across the mighty river Ebro is the town of Miravets, where you can explore the imposing Templar Castle of Miravet - once a Moorish fortification. If nature is your thing, less than 50 minutes drive from Tivissa, are the natural warm thermal springs known as the Sanctuary of La Fontcalda, in the most beautiful setting! you can bathe/swim there too. The drive to La Fontcalda is stunning, with the most amazing views! Further afield but not too far is Tarragona, visiting the Roman amphitheatre there is a must! Tivissa is a tranquil base to explore the surrounding area - the perfect location.

    The property is immaculately clean, very modern and it is obvious that the hosts have taken lots of care when decorating the hotel. The hosts are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The breakfast and outside terrace are amazing with very beautiful views over the peach orchards (we were lucky enough to have home made peach juice with our breakfasts). Would definitely return to this hotel and would definitely recommend to anybody in the area.

    I really liked to stay in a real house, which was more or less transformed into a guesthouse. It had a nice personal touch, a very friendly host, and also a shared (with other guests) living room/kitchen at the top floor, with stunning views. And Tivissa itself is a very beautiful small village that has the basic supplies.

    The location is very good and the weeks we were there was the towns major summer festivities which our we all enjoyed a lot. We went almost each day to the beach, about 30 min drive. And Tivissa is a very nice town to be.

    Perfect location, in the heart of the beautiful medieval town of Tivissa. The house has been renovated to a high standard but kept its original charm and many original features. The hot tub is a bonus too!
