The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Especially Soukaina on the front desk who is bilingual and showed me the utmost kindness and hospitality. My room was also pristine and I had a desk and office chair to work.

The location of this hotel is excellent, about 10 minutes walk through the main shopping/eating precinct to the harbour. The staff at reception were wonderfully helpful. kind and informative. We were able to park in the very convenient hotel car park building. The bed was comfortable with good bedlights and the shower was great with Dove toiletries. It’s a good, basic hotel to which I’d happily return.

Wow! This was the surprise hit of our trip. We got an incredible deal and expected nothing more than a place to sleep. The front hallway was a bit dingy, but then we were SHOCKED. Our apartment was absolutely gorgeous, huge, and newly renovated, but with lots of character. The windows are incredible. The neighborhood was perfect. We walked everywhere and LOVED this city. Go to Cartagena! Stay here! The ancient sites are stunning. We even ran into some peacocks! And people were so nice. My husband parked in the wrong colored zone, and rather than giving him a ticket, the parking officer walked him to a different street and helped him park. Our short stay in Cartagena was wonderful!

El Portus is beautiful.

El Portus is beautiful. Unfortunately there is very little internet reception anywhere, contrary to advertised. Reception only opens at 10am and is not 24 hour as advertised. Reception staff could hardly have been more indifferent to any of our problems. I understand tempers are frayed by the end of September but their abruptness was unacceptable. Also, the rule that you are not allowed to leave the resort before 7am is nonsense. We were given no warning of this. Luckily we did not have a plane to catch.
