Authentic, very friendly staff, relaxed and quiet, great home made wine and food. Good for small families, couples etc. I used as a stopover. The owner kindly cooked me a meal on a Bank Holiday when all restaurants were closed.

    Ponferrada seems a really nice city. We didn’t get time to visit the castle or cathedral but our friend did and she said both are really great and well worth a visit. Loads of restaurants and places to eat.

    I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.

    I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino. This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL. Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

    We booked this on a whim, knowing nothing about the place except it was on the Camino Way. The Hotel was quite basic and the staff seemed to be permanently busy. It was reasonably comfortable but make no mistake this hotel has seen better days.Parking on a Saturday was pretty good as I bagged a space just down the side but it was busy. What was really good was the position, very close to the Castle (which was excellent and well worth a visit) and the busy little area around the castle with many bars and restaurants.

    Lovely hotel right in the centre of Ponferrada and near the castle, restaurants, shops, etc. receptionist was really helpful and friendly and had called to see when we would arrive as no reception after 6. Room was a good size and shower was good. Bed was comfy so had a good nights sleep.

    Good location central in Ponferrada. Check in quick and easy. The room and bathroom are fine, however they are old and pretty tatty. A lot of renovations and maintenance need to be done on the hotel.
