Matalascanas is right beside Donana National Park but the mosquitoes don't stay behind the fence so bring plenty of insect repellent because they are irrepressible and they are everywhere. At this time of the year (April), the main supermarkets are closed (Google lies about this) and so are a lot of restaurants and other shops etc. At this time also, the bars and restaurants on the beach are mostly understaffed and overpriced and so don't expect service with a smile or in a hurry.Guest review byJosephIreland - 4.0

Its a strange sort of half deserted seaside town, moatly 2nd homes. We visited in March i imagine it is much busier in summer. Not many places to eat out off season and the places they did have are very basic. One ripped us off by charging 40e for a piece of steak, but it is the closest beach place to Seville. There is a promenade along the beach, plenty of places to eat and buy necessary things. The beach itself is great, plenty of space and away from the more frequented "Torre de la Higuera" area.
