Easy to get the train to El Chorro - I actually missed the stop as I was looking at google maps and the tunnels delayed reception! LOL The views from my accommodation were amazing. Both on sunny days and when the clouds came down with rain. The hotel and train station were very close to my accommodation - but (note to self!) travel light. the roads and stairs do not make for easy movement of big cases! There is not much in El Chorro, other than Caminito Del Rey...
There is not much in El Chorro, other than Caminito Del Rey but that is worth it for sure. We've had a guided tour and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We could have spent a few more hours there enjoying that place. Unfortunately, we had a train to catch. There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our...
There isn't anything to do in El Chorro, apart from our excellent hotel, there is one other small bar next to the train station and a super market which is a very small shop that sells very little. The train station is unmanned and our experiences with the trains in Spain you could write a comedy series on it, with tickets you booked online not arriving or cancelled the last 4 trains and costing 80 Euros for a taxi to get back to the hotel. Great start point for the Caminito del rey - shuttle buses will take you to the trail head leading to the Caminito del Rey access point. Caminito del Rey ends 2 km away from el Chorrro. We booked room based on photos but got something very different. Room given wasn't suitable for us but for a younger modern couple. The stairs were too narrow no sofa . Lighting too bright and exposed for us. It has it good points with views and using for overnight stay is good but not for a week stay. The walk around was lovely and recommended. Guided tour stats at 9.30 and well worth it. No outside eating places just the restaurant. This hotel wasn't for us but is suitable for backpackers.Guest review byBrianGibraltar

Four bedrooms (2 doubles and 2×4 bunk rooms) and three bathrooms were great for our group of mixed climbing friends. Showers were always hot with a strong pressure. Washing machine and dishwasher were very useful too. The plunge pool was a wonderful way to cool down during the afternoon. Nice large kitchen, wood burning fireplace plus bbq in outside terrace area. Spotlessly clean in a beautifully restored and re jigged traditional regional property. There's truly no other option located as well as this hotel in El Chorro if you want to take Caminito del Rey. The bus stops just in front of the hotel and gets you to the beginning. And how nice it is to come back and jump into the pool with the view to the dam. In addition you get super stylish rooms and quality food. Overpriced? No. It's not cheap, but totally worth it. The two climbing sectors nearby are Rocebella (10 min walk) or Corral East (25 min). We booked the villa for two couples and were very pleased with the layout of the villa.
