We had a delay at the last moment. We managed to change the date to the following day without cost. Then, when we turned up 5 hours before check-in the hotel was completely sympathetic that things CAN happen on long journeys, and let us check there and then. We are very very grateful for the excellent service.

It is a nice place in the city center, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and places of interest. Because of the early departure, personal care about a lunch box.

Arrived later in the afternoon to 40 degree heat, reception staff willing and obliging to take our luggage, and to top it off was given an upgrade to a suite which made our stay ever so comfortable. The staff we came across were very friendly. Thankyou Hotel Colon Plaza and for the chocolates.

We loved everything about this hotel ! A 1200 year old castle then renovated into a palace and finally to finish up as a modern, trendy and chic place to stay. The restaurant was fabulous great food and fresh ingredients and very good service. Must do the breakfast as it was a bargain for what you got. The hosts/ owners and staff were so nice, friendly and helpful, we even got a personalised tour of the local village. Oh forgot to mention it is associated with the vineyard nearby with great selection of the local wine … triple bonus
