The property is really beautiful, set on an island of Aswan. The welcomed me in like I was apart of their family and made it feel more homely. It is such a beautiful property and accessible only by boat. The island is beautiful. Plus their kitchen is incredible - the food was delicious! I would always recommend people to stay here for the peaceful atmosphere and the incredible sunrises over the water.

Noprea and the surrounding area was absolutely beautiful and far exceeded our expectations! Everything about the place was magic and our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. Tucked away on a peaceful island in the reservoir, you couldn’t find a better place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and Nubian lifestyle. On top of that the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable and have everything you could possibly need, the breakfast was absolutely delicious and the whole place exceedingly good value for money - we could have stayed forever. All of the staff were wonderful, especially Tamer, who was extremely informative and helpful throughout our stay - nothing was too much trouble! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay and we can’t wait to come back! If you are coming to Aswan make sure to stay here, you will not regret it!

The location is absolutely stunning, with views to the Philae temple over the Nile. The staff was amazing as well, very caring and patient. We loved our breakfast where Rose was really nice and professional. We also enjoy the boat ride around the island. Rooms were spacious enough and have good light and views. If we ever go back to Egypt, we will come back to Aro Kato for sure.

It's a lovely place with very nice hosts. Mohamed and Fatima are the best people I met in Egypt. The location might seem far away from Aswan city center, but it is very close to the airport. Mohamed also can drive you to anywhere you want at anytime. And unlike other hotels in Nubian village center, you don't need to ride a few kilometres of dirt road to get there. Kamel house is just around 100 meter away from asphalt road, very easy accessible. We also had dinner prepared by Fatima. Food was very delicious. She also prepared breakfast for us at 4 am for our Abu Simbel tour and before our flight. We booked the Abu Simbel transfer from them, it's AC medium bus, very comfortable. Not the no-AC minivan. All in all, this is the place I would recommend to anyone who is coming to Aswan and wants to experience living in local village. It's definitely a nice experience. Don't expect fancy and modern hotel, but you will not regret. I am very happy that I spent money here in the local village rather than in a five-star hotel chain.

We had a beautiful stay at Asilah guesthouse on the island. The rooms were simple but comfortable and the daily breakfast was great. The island is very quiet and peaceful, and walking around, you get a glimpse of Nubian village life. The boat ride to the island and around was so magical and peaceful, and it was lovely to get a feel for the Nile energy. The owner, Kareem, is such a friendly and helpful guy. He went out of his way to assist us with boat and taxi transport around the island and into Aswan and to see the temple of Philae. We joined Kareem on a trip to Aswan and ate lunch together, and had some great conversations.

We loved our stay at Old Nubian. Nas & Ramadan are fantastic and super helpful. They seamlessly collected and drop us off with the boat whenever we needed. We had hearty delicious meals and the view is something special as well. Thanks for having us and making our stay so lovely

Unique atmosphere, with many Nubian design references. Island setting with boat taxi available, offers rare chance of peace and tranquillity apart from the busy streets of the mainland. Subtle lighting at night adds sophistication and allows the wonderful view of Philae temple [of Isis] to be fully appreciated. The adjoining Solaih Nubian restaurant offers authentic menu using local ingredients - be sure to order at least a day before. We used Whatsapp to list our food selection and our choices were all prepared for our visit. It paid to be adventurous and the addition of lentil and spinach dishes with meat options, was flavoursome. Portions are large. Only the bread disappointed somewhat. Remember to take mosquito repellant as this saved us - there were quite a few around even in December.
