I stayed at Hotel Saxkjøbing for a night and was genuinely impressed. The building itself is beautiful, full of history and atmosphere, with lovely old details that make it feel very special. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. It’s not a luxury hotel, but everything feels genuine. The restaurant is definitely worth visiting for dinner too. The food is simple but beautifully prepared and based on local ingredients I've been told. Overall, this was one of the most pleasant and authentic hotel experiences I’ve had in Denmark. If you enjoy historical buildings, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere, Hotel Saxkjøbing is absolutely worth a visit.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the floor in my room creaked so much that I didn't dare walk on it because of the noise downstairs. I also found the sound very annoying. The toilet tank kept running, which also made an annoying noise.

Communication is a disaster; no replies are received by phone or email. There's no TV, the Wi-Fi is down, and the reception is never staffed. If you have problems, you have to call the police or the fire department...

The town seems abandoned and almost a little sad.

The town seems abandoned and almost a little sad. Nice square with trees and a sculpture. There is a small cozy harbor with a cafe by the canal. I hope that Meyer's good initiative with the hotel Saxkøbing and other initiatives can help the town.

The hotel position was lovely - in town. We were able to park our motorcycles within the confines of the hotel courtyard. The staff were really helpful and the restaurant/food were excellent.
