The location is very calm and all the rooms are very comfortable, with nice individual themes. The exterior is funy and very nice for the ones with the British & Scottish spirit in the soul...the whole collectibles surrounding the place are just unique in their way...The Lady (owner) is very friendly and really delicious, same for all the employees which are fluent in English :-) And the breakfast a pure & delicious British Breakfast...

Unkel is small, but close to many attractions. You can find out which ones on Wikipedia (Siebengebirge hills, Drachenburg Castle, Remagen, etc.). Bonn and Cologne are also easily accessible by train. Great little town!

Unkel is a charming little town with old half-timbered...

Unkel is a charming little town with old half-timbered houses, narrow lanes, and a promenade right on the Rhine. There's plenty to discover (museums, Drachenburg Castle, etc.) and do (hiking, boat trips, etc.) in the surrounding area. For a meal, I recommend the Restaurant Traube. Delicious food!

Unkel is a charming little town with narrow alleys, half-timbered houses, a beautiful shaded Rhine promenade reserved for pedestrians and cyclists, and an interesting museum in Willy Brandt's house. Hiking opportunities are available nearby (Siebensgebirge). Recommended for a short summer stay.

A small village on the Rhine with little to do.

A small village on the Rhine with little to do. There's no view of the Rhine from the village. There's a gravel path along the Rhine with a few benches, but no restaurants or cafes. It's a good base for cycling, though.

Great location on the Rhine.

Great location on the Rhine. Pretty little old town, therefore no shops in the city center, only restaurants, but on the outskirts. However, everything is reachable on foot within 5 minutes, as the city is not very large.

We were surprised; although it's an older building, it had great amenities and very friendly staff. The rooms were perfectly fine, with modern bathrooms and a spacious layout. The staff really went out of their way to make sure every single guest was happy, and we also found the 24-hour reception very convenient. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

Decent choice for breakfast considering price paid. ( coffee more average, but still good value.) The room was simple but clean, & comfortable. The hotel is adjacent to a quality restaurant where had a great meal. Unkel is an attractive & interesting quiet little town, so great for an overnight stop. Parking would be difficult in a large car there.

The Hotel is in the middle of the small town Unkel, near Bonn. Bed and bathroom were good and the room was spacious enough. Wifi was okay in the room, although sometimes it was out in the morning. Breakfast served was very good. The Hotel also has a restaurant, which serves lovely food. Generally speaking I would consider staying here again.
