Schechen is a great starting point for many excursions.

Schechen is a great starting point for many excursions. It's centrally located and very quiet. You can easily reach Chiemsee, Tegernsee, Birkenstein, Rosenheim, Wasserburg, and other destinations. There's a large Edeka supermarket in town. Opposite Schechen is Erlensee lake with a restaurant – also a good place to eat.

We were just passing through and only stayed one night. We took the opportunity to meet up with friends for dinner, and everyone was very satisfied. We highly recommend the Egger Stübchen – a great team!

Large and clean rooms are a big plus.

Large and clean rooms are a big plus. In the evenings, the only dining option is the hotel restaurant, as it's a village. It was perfect for our day trips by car. If you're looking for evening entertainment, you're probably better off in Rosenheim itself.

It's centrally located.

It's centrally located. You can get everything you need locally. Rosenheim is just a few minutes away. It's an ideal starting point for day trips, for example to Salzburg. Taking the train there is recommended. A visit to Lake Chiemsee, including boat tours and a tour of Herrenchiemsee Palace, is also highly recommended.

Avoid this city.

Avoid this city. I was passing through, hoping to rest after a twelve-hour journey—none. I think weekends can be skipped. In hotels—those in the countryside—family events, clubs, and the like will effectively deprive you of the chance to relax.

Schechen is a very beautiful village.

Schechen is a very beautiful village. Small and manageable, yet the houses and streets were very clean. We were able to reach the city of Rosenheim in 5 minutes, and other destinations (such as Lake Chiemsee, the mountains, etc.) could also be reached quickly by car.

Extremely friendly staff. It is normal for a Bavarian village but this time it exceeded all expectations. Good restaurant at the hotel. Nice location at the main street but very quiet.

Everything was just perfect. Got all you need in a village hotel. Big, clean room with small kitchenette and huge bathroom. Good tiramisu, beer and breakfast.
