Very nice design overall and well thought out. I found out that this used to be a jail where many Jews were imprisoned. While the leaning into the prison details nice design-wise, I'm not sure it's considerate. However, its functioning as a hotel overall is pretty impeccable from form to functions. While there's a surcharge for dogs, it's the only hotel we've been to that actually set up a nice little corner for our pup with bed/mat, bowls and a bag of treats. It's such nice little details.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing, excellent choices, yoghurt, cooked, several kinds of bread. Excellent breakfast service, too. The room was lovely, very quiet, great bathroom, very clean. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious on several nights. I have no idea where some of the bad reviews are coming from. This hotel is top class.

Amazing property, it makes you feel like in a fairytale. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night on our road to Colmar Christmas market which is 1 hour away by car from this location, but we would have loved to stay more. We will definitely come back. The host is also very nice.

    We used Offenburg as a hub for exploring the Black Forest. We visited the Open Air Museum, Hohenzollern Castle, an old town with a clock shop, and took a hike in the woods. We couldn't do everything we wanted to, but Offenburg made a really great "base of operations."

    Excellent hotel.

    Excellent hotel. Unique in its category as it was converted from an 19th century prison. Well worth a detour. We enjoyed the restaurant - big menu variety and tasty. Hotel is located close to the autobahns

    Great Experience Visiting Offenburg!

    Great Experience Visiting Offenburg! I had a wonderful visit to Offenburg, Germany, during my trip for CloudFest. The city has a charming atmosphere, with beautiful architecture, friendly locals, and great dining options. It was a perfect place to explore, offering a nice balance between modern conveniences and historic charm. The transport connections were smooth, making travel to Rust and CloudFest effortless. I truly enjoyed my time in Offenburg and would love to visit again!

    The local is very convenient and close to the train station, this saves you taxi fare as it is within walking distance. The breakfast which came with the booking was excellent. The room space was just right for my use as I wasn't staying for long. Travelers staying for long should pay particular attention to the size of the beds they choose, as the bed size in my room was small, but convenient. I will visit the place again if I were to visit offenburg in the future

    I stayed there because I attended a conference in Europa...

    I stayed there because I attended a conference in Europa Park and there all hotels there were fully booked. Transport was easy by train and special bus shuttle of the event. Just sad that I did not have time to enjoy Offenburg.

    Offenburg is a lovely City at the edge of the Black Forest.; also home of Burda. There is a superb lake in walking distance, Gifiz, great for a safe swim. Offenburg is near Europa-Park/ Rulantica, near Strasbourg and Freiburg…. Great for exploring the entire region…. Wine tours, hiking, shopping and lounging.

    The hotel is very comfortably located right next to the station. The room is very clean, silent (even though it overlooked the railway – we were not disturbed at all), and has all that anyone would need for a short stay, including a kettle, which is unusual for German hotels. The bathroom is spotless and new. The breakfast is superb, very rich, for all tastes. People on the reception are very nice and helpful. We arrived on bikes and were allowed to put them in a meeting room, which was comfortable.

    The location is great for arriving with train, driving and walking around the city centre. We came with a car on Friday evening and could find a street parking opposite the road from the hotel. The self-check in for late evening was clear and well communicated. Our room faced the back/pedestrian street and was quiet.

    Lady at the counter is very kind, not far away from Offenburg HBF. Using password as key card is pretty convenient, and also feel more safe. It's a nice choice if you want to go to EuropaPark.
